    Horn's work equaled hitting air.
Atlas was right, the Horn fight was a setup.

Teddy was banned from the Lomo-Rigo ringside, but did a split-screen chat with Stephen A right after the decision was announced, so he's still around. He also did a studio show with one of the hot ESPN female reporters (OMG did I just indulge in inappropriate behavior?)

Atlas should be an investigative reporter with his own news show about boxing not calling the action of fights. I begrudgingly respect his passion for the sport but he was absolute horrid as a ringside announcer.

I think Atlas was seen as "too-honest" about judges, promoters and referees. Glaring incompetence in all these categories has been blatant for decades but Atlas started to see incompetence as only part of the story.

Exactly. The network was investing in boxing, and it seemed half of Atlas' comments on any given broadcast were directed at the negative side of the sport. If an NFL announcer spent half the Super Bowl talking about how 90 percent of the players were going to die young because of brain injuries and the NFL was doing nothing substantial to stop it, he wouldn't be calling too many Super Bowls.

We all know there is corruption in boxing. But every card isn't corrupt. Every decision you don't agree with isn't a scandal.

Atlas was there to call the fights taking place in the ring in front of him. And most of the time during a fight he told stories and railed about corruption, and paid little attention to what was going on in the ring that night. And if he thought someone won a fight, and they didn't get the nod, HE RAILED like it was another scandal. When many people didn't agree with his opinions on who won fights.

Atlas was very good in the early 2000s. He passed his sell-by date about a decade ago, when every card became a "conspiracy" storyline.

It got to the point where I couldn't even watch ESPN boxing shows anymore. I started watching the British feeds of ESPN telecasts or I didn't watch them at all. Anything to drown out his constant yapping.

Side Note: There is a big investigative story about to be published on sexual harassment at ESPN. It was talked about extensively on sports radio stations yesterday. I also wouldn't be surprised if Atlas got pulled from major assignments while the network awaited the release of the story. He never seemed like the brightest bulb.

Also, the fact that, in most stories about this, Atlas' quotes are "I still have years on my deal" and "I promised ESPN I wouldn't comment publicly" sounds like a guy who has lawyered up because he's being investigated.

Teddy pulled rank on that pompous **** Mark Kriegal who thought he could roll on in and make a name for himself by taking on an apex predator like Teddy right off the bat without having earned the right to do so. Teddy wasn't having it so he put the smug little upstart in his place just like he did to a teenage Mike after he'd groped Teddy's young niece.

Kriegel is a pencil-necked geek who showed his complete ignorance of athletic competition. He's one of those "never-done-it" but gonna "tell-you-how-it's-done" types. Atlas probably got fired because he humiliated Kriegel.

Teddy Atlas got fired because they cannot afford to have a loose lipped reporter at ESPN after all that knee taking NFL fiasco with that dumb broad from Detroit.
Teddy talks too much and would tell more than he needs to.
The networks are about the MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!!!!!!!! All that love for the sport **** is for fans. Teddy talking cash **** about and entire country after that Pac/Horn fight got his ass canned from ringside and if he does it again he will be suddenly cut from after fight telecasting too.
Sometimes you have to shut the **** up and get your paycheck.

Exactly. Teddy is legit, both with regards to his vast knowledge and experience of the sport, and as a man of conviction and integrity. He's also a legit tough guy, a former feared and respected street fighter who has never backed down from anybody no matter how big and bad they are or how many they outnumber him by. Kriegal is a sissy who has never even had a play fight in his life never mind a real one. Kriegal would've **** a 10 tonne brick if Teddy had got in his face and suggested they step outside and sort out their differences on the cobbles mano e mano.

I really like Teddy. Down to earth guy who says what he thinks. Sort of person i'd like to have a few pints with - can't say that for many of the boxing analysts.
