I would not be shocked myself, but I don't think that it would happen.

I think that Louis would judge Wilder to be a threat, and decide that he was best got out of there quickly.

I think that Wilder would hand him the opportunity early, and the rest would be history.

The last person that you want to be against Joe Louis, is somebody who he is wary of, but can be taken out comparatively easily.

that really is visiting trouble upon yourself!

I would agree with this ala Mauriello , but we haven't seen Wilder taken out yet.

I just don't get why people love using Buddy Bear to compare much of anything.... It truly says very little imo

Buddy Baer was not only as big as anyone but he was more the genuine article than anybody Wilder has fought so far.

To call Buddy Bear a "genuine article" tells me there is some serious agenda serving at work here. Buddy Bear was anything but the genuine article.

Well he was better than anybody that Wilder has beaten, so if he was not the genuine article, then that is worse for Wilder than it is for Louis!

I'm also not saying Wilder beat anybody of great significance either. All I'm saying is, anybody can look at the film of Buddy Bear and what he accomplished and know he's not the "genuine article".

The Buddy Baer in this clip looks horrible. Szpilka looked a lot better than this. Stiverne, the first time around, looked better.

The Stiverne in this clip looks 100 times better? Nobody looks good losing in one round. How good to Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston or Max Schmeling look losing in one round? And nobody looks good trying to hit a smaller target.

Fact is, Buddy was decent. He fought a lot of times in a better era when fighters climbed the ranks by beating rated fighters rather than get allocated a rank just for being 18-0 or whatever.

Please note "the first time around" in my post. You do realize that Stiverne fought Wilder in 2015, right?

And, the fact is that this was Buddy's final and 60th fight. Now matter what he had produced earlier, he looks like shite here, the perfect foil for Louis to destroy.

Well if you are comparing him to a prime Lennox Lewis, you'd be correct. But if you compare him to the run of the mill big man that AJ or Wilder have been knocking over, then Buddy Baer might as well be Lennox Lewis. I mean, Baer was easily a superior opponent to Stiverne that Wilder destroyed.
