Tina Fey has a huge scar on the side of her face, too. That doesn't make her a former streetfighter.

Again, the only people who have ever touted Teddy's streetfighting skills were "Teddy Atlas" in his book about himself.

Everyone else in the sport (from Freddie Roach to Mike Tyson) just kind of giggles when Teddy's toughness is brought up.

Some street punk carved him up. Then he went home to his dad's mansion to recover. He was a dumb rich kid trying to play tough guy. And he still is.

I don't really care about any of that, suffice to say he sucked. I read some of his writing a few years back and it wasn't just dated. He was a hack. Sylvester Stallone is in the Hall of Fame too.

So you don't care that Merchant was an established figure in the sport for 35 years (behind the scenes as an investor in Frazier, in the press and on NBC and HBO calling fights) before Max Kellerman arrived on the scene because you read a couple of Merchant's articles once and didn't care for them?

Yeah, I guess that makes him a non-entity. Whatever, man.

    Yep.

If you can so casually dismiss the fact that Kellerman has also now himself covered boxing for three decades (since the cable access days in his teens, before he could legally even hold a fulltime job, demonstrating a standard of passion for the sport you'd be hard pressed to prove Merchant ever met, let alone surpassed), why are you shocked at me just as casually dismissing the sum of Merchant's work?

Max was offered (and held) many lucrative positions in his ESPN career but always circled back to boxing (and would shoehorn it without context into programming that wasn't centered in the sport), of which he is a lifelong fan and scholar, owning thousands of hours of footage. Who ever knocked down Larry's door to offer him any other gig, that he might demonstrate such loyalty?

He got slashed in a street fight by some toughs. He was outnumbered but it didn't phase him in the least, nor did the fact they were carrying shanks. It took 400 stitches to stitch that lil baby up.

And Donald Trump is in the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. I'm assuming because of fights held at the Atlantic City Trump Casino, not for his pugilistic abilities.

I like atlas but he's too emotional and too brutally honest for the networks. He's his own worst enemy at times.

I'm just glad we won't have to hear his stupid analogies anymore. No Teddy boxing is not like mama's spaghetti or a screen door you used to have.

Actually it shows the opposite/ If ESPN took boxing seriously & cared about it they would back Teddy 100%. Teddy loves the sport as I do & cannot stand the corruption that is ruining it. All ESPN are concerned with is the $$$$$$$ Do you really think Bob Bennett & the NSAC care about the sport ?? Shows what Bennett knows he thinks Adelaide Byrd is a great judge ROFL Maybe she is for him but NOT fir boxing

Say what you want about Larry but he still has the honor of being the man to shot Mayweathers whining up. That " If I was 50 yrars younger I'd kick your ass myself " Shut that punk up in a heartbeat
