Yeah just checked got 11 months left. The dynamic of his relationship with Matchroom mightvchsnge but think they will be involved as long as they have the Sky deal as that's the best commercial ppv platform in country and that's the number 1 consideration for AJ regarding promotion.
This. I believe matchrooms deal with Sky runs until 2021. I'm not convinced AJ walks away from matchroom and Sky. The PPV revenue is so good for AJ as well as matchroom only take 20%. It's a great deal for him.
having Tete as a headliner in a nothing fight if DeGale wasn't a sell out, imagine the tickets that will do, the standard of his cards seem to have dropped again after arguably getting to the point where they were better than Hearns, doesn't have the two best prospects in the Uk, thats just hyperbole, and anyone could put a fight on with Josh Warrington at Elland Road, whether it sells our or not is the real question. are you gonna mention sending one of his only world champions to fight Lemieux, in Canada, on a Golden Boy card, when he knows full well Lemieux is being set-up to enter the GGG/Canelo fold?
DeGale was 90% sold out. They keep going there because the shows are doing well. As for 'sending' Saunders to Canada, it's a massive opportunity and we'll worth the risk. If Saunders wins he's in the big, big, time. Clearly Frank is damned if he does...
I was there, it wasn't 90% full, I've been the Walsh/Davis & Saunders/Monroe, they weren't full either, Walsh/Davis was close to full though tbh. clearly not, cos he wouldn't be damned if he didn't do it, and brought Lemieux here, it would have been sensible
Not only that but Eddie has publicly stated as AJ grows he's happy to take a smaller % to stay part of team, so can't see AJ leaving anytime soon well certainly not for a guy who has a track record in not paying fighters.
I don't get the Barrett hype at all personally. He's fought absolutely no one of note in 19 fights. It's a joke.
I doubt he will leave Matchroom and Eddie Hearn as he is making fortunes every fight and they seem to actually get on well. I have noticed Eddie may be a bit of a prat but he seems to get on very well with the Matchroom fighters and actually seems to care about them. If anything I can envisage Joshua setting up his own promotional company and they do joint promotions of his fights.
