No. Agreed, Golden Boy aren't paying all that money to do Saunders any favours. He has to give Lemieux a boxing lesson to win. GGG did it, but he's a master of distance and has maybe the best jab in the game. Lemieux couldn't get in range to land. Whether Saunders is capable of that kind of dominance, we will find out tonight. As you correctly point out, his history suggests he's not. His career has been built off winning close rounds. Even so, he gave away the championship rounds against Eubank Jr, Lee and Monroe.

All things considered, we can't be surprised if Lemieux wins by decision.

You make some pretty valid points mate. There’s no arguing with the fact that BJS is up against it tonight. There are a number of factors against him and David Lemieux’s record speaks for itself. He is certainly no soft touch. Even though this is the British board, I think you’ll see by the posts that there’s a number that agree with you.

I think this could be David Lemieux’s last fight at 160 ‘if’ he gets beat tonight. A couple of times now he’s struggled to get down to the 160. If the fight goes to the championship rounds, Lemieux might really feel the effects with that, especially if BJS is successful in making him work hard and miss. BJS is in, probably for the first time in many years, peak physical condition and quite possibly in peak condition mentally too.

If we’re talking about misdirect praise, i would argue against the misdirect criticism that Saunders has no power. I think he can hit hard and I reckon he can get a stoppage tonight. He’s light on his feet and switches angles but I think he will land a few big counters tonight.

I’m more excited about sitting at home eating my kebab watching this fight than I am about going out on the town tonight.

Likewise, absolutely buzzing for this one.

Thought I'd post this clip from nearly two years ago, Angel Garcia mouthing off on BJS for (allegedly) turning down the GGG fight. "He'll never see 2 million dollars in his whole life. Ever". Strikes me that if BJS loses tonight, Garcia will almost certainly have been proven right.

If BJS wins, of course, then there's at least one multi-million pay day on the horizon.

Everything is on the line tonight.

Lemieuxs only chance is to rush Billy Joe from the start and hit him everywhere he can...arms, gloves included. You can't stand off bjs like Andy Lee did...you have to put him under big Time physical pressure and hope to land on him. It will be very hard for DL to land clean on bjs. Bjs is very tricky, very elusive, slippery, deceptively slick, makes you miss by inches and picks nice counters.

Bjs will win every round that david fails to score a knockdown. Unlikely david has the skills to really get at Billy Joe, sufficient to win ....but lots watching will be quietly hoping the more likeable david can do it.

BJS was fit last fight too and he still stunk the joint. We saw an arrogant Brit get an overdue beating last week, we may see it again tonight.

I’m not Billy Joe’s biggest fan but he wins tonight.

I hope Lemieux has Billy's jaw hanging off his face when he is finished with him. One of the most detestable individuals in and outside the sport.

This will be like the Eubank Rochigiani fight, boring as hell, and bjs wins by a large decision...

Golden Boy wants to make an in-house fight between Byrdnelo and Lemieux. To keep all the money
If this fight is even remotely close or Lemieux scores a knockdown then expect dodgy scorecards.

It'll be interesting to see if Lemieux can rewind back to the N'dam fight and replicate that performance. His speed, power and intensity was on point that night.

A lot of posters will have egg on their faces when images of Saunders laid out on his backside are splashed across the Sunday morning back pages.

He's getting found out tonight......found out!

World class boxing lesson. Fair play to those who called it and credit to Saunders. Lemieux didn't even force the pace, BJS could have boxed 15 rounds - and that's saying something!
