P4P #1. Lomachenko and Crawford need to match that resume. We can't just put them ahead of him based off the "eye test". Of course if these fights are clear wins though. Not GGG/Jacobs type wins.

Sergio didn't fight at Middleweight until 2010, sooooo...

Not sure why Pirog is the measuring stick here. Geale accomplished more.

Styles make fights and tonight really was a good showcase for BJS.
He's beaten Eubank Jr, Lee, and now Lemieux (and in easy fashion), he has the second best resume, against middleweights, in the division.
I would love to see him fight Jacobs that is a really good fight. And after tonight I would like to see Lee who fought him very close get another big fight.

    Top 15 ATG

Be much better if this guy beat CEJ in the WBSS and then him and BJS 2.0 got it on together in a slickster battle for the ages.

Well, in my last few posts I have switched gears to discuss resume/accomplishment but in the OP my original take on this was h2h. I, and many others, rated Pirog very highly and felt he was the guy to really test GGG in his prime and lament the fact that we didn't get to see it.

Yes, that's why Jacobs is a great, challenging match for Saunders. Saunders won't face anyone else with the educated jab or tactical awareness of Jacobs. But can we be sure Saunders can't think through a boxing contest with Jacobs? It's hard to call, and if one guy clearly wins we'll see qualities we haven't yet seen from him. Neither has really faced someone with the other's skill.

Charlo, yeah I do favour Saunders' movement, straighter punches, and poise in that one. Charlo may match Saunders speed, but Charlo can be impatient and sloppy, he relies on speed and athletic reflexes more than technique. But it's of course an interesting matchup, it'll be close, Saunders will have to box much more carefully than against Lemieux, and though I 'clearly' favour him I'm not saying he easily controls Charlo throughout and dominates. Just that I see shortcomings with Charlo for Saunders that I don't see in Jacobs.

I don't throw around the term 50/50: I'll handicap Saunders at 55% against Jacobs in a fight either could win; and against Charlo I'd be happy to bet Saunders at better than 1/2, meaning I'll give him a 65% chance.

Fair enough. I favor Jacobs 70/30. And Charlo/Saunders is 50/50 for me, very hard to split I wouldn't bet a lot of money on either. Though I would take a bet if you're taking 1/2 odds. If you want to bet Jacobs/Saunders even odds, we can set something up. Like 100 dollars or something.

Saunders would have an excellent chance to beat Jacobs and Charlo who's best win was against a cripple! Golovkin would beat him, El Pollo would get a decision from Oscar's personal judges...............

Sparked James Degale in sparring so that makes him a 2 weight world champion as well.

I probably won't want to risk that much on a match I only slightly favour Saunders in. I typically bet no more than 4% of my betting account bankroll on a fight, which is plenty less than $100, and I only bet $100+ when I think the odds are significantly mispriced, which even money won't be. $50 or less and you're on though!

I wonder what the betting odds will be. I suspect the public for his championship status as much as his skill will make Saunders an even clearer fave than I have him.

Sure any amount below 100 is fine. You pick. We can do amazon gift cards or charity or something else too if you don't want to give private info. We're doing this on the trust system so I wouldn't bet more than that and I feel like you're not someone that would welch. I remember this one weirdo wanted to bet me 500 on Postol/Crawford and I was 100% sure he wouldn't pay me, so I didn't take the bet. Because even though I favored Crawford big time that tiny % chance he gets knocked out I would have ended up paying him 500 knowing he would've never paid me lol.

I don't know Lemieux/Saunders odds were pretty close heard it was pretty much 50/50 and almost everyone here thought Saunders would win easy. It would be probably 50/50ish. What betting site do you use by the way? I've always wanted to get in on online betting but it's hard to know what sites to trust.

Jacobs chin will get exposed by Saunders
Saunders is very accurate and has underrated power, Saunders is actually a monster puncher in comparison to Sergio Mora. Saunders is fairly long limbed so wouldn't give up much length and he has much better foot work and timing. I don't think Jacobs chin is good enough for him to pressure Saunders and the only way I see him winning is by sheer volume or a KO, with his chin being so poor I can't see him winning by volume so i'd give him, about 10% chance tbh. Jacobs is a great fighter he just has one severe weakness that will get exposed by the timing and accuracy of Billy.

Saunders isn't featherfisted and has some pop but if Jacobs could take GGG's power he can take Saunders forsure lol. Also Mora was more of a running right into a shot showing no respect issue than anything.
