I understand all your points, I'm just pointing out that the guys he beat did in fact get title shots; surely that would make them top ten HW boxers? Maybe not "elite" but not tomato cans.
I disagree about Byrd...even at 37 he was a tough little guy for a HW to beat.

Guys like Headvetkin don't beat guys like Wlad, Fury, Wilder or...well he could beat Joshua.

I agree they arent cans, I'd never say they were (possible exception in Wach and Charr).

Hes world class for sure, a good one. But elite...really not sure about that at all. Huck is your evidence, not byrd, rahman et al. A huck in the hand is worth a byrd and a hasim.

Noone is elite at 37 unless they happen to be from the tree of Hopkins or a freking ATG.

I mean, the possible elites at HW are really Josh and Wilder, and they even havent proved themselves worthy of being that until they fight world class consistently not near 40 year olds, and more pertinently fight each other. They were gifted titles so how anyone could take themselves seriously for calling them elite is beyond me. We have to settle for "possible/probable elites" with them.

Christ when did boxing become the home of the near40something "athlete." Its atrocious for us to consider them some kind of upper echelon in general in boxing.

but it is his only real evidence for being elite, since Huck was an elite, or the closest Povs beaten to it.

At best I'd say Pov was borderline elite, given that he was on PEDs during this time, and world class without PEDs.

He would beat Parker.dont think he can survive the early onslaught of AJ now he has slowed down a bit if he could the fight could be interesting as Joshua runs out of puff.I think he gets ahead on the score cards against Wilder before running into a big shot and getting KOed.

Wasn't the result reversed? Where were his title shots when the drug test was not an issue?

nothing was reversed by the WBC at all, it was reduced to a 1 year ban. Pedvetkin is a serious PED cheat. You already knoiw this, which is why you wrote your point as a QUESTION rather than a statement of fact.

He has been granted a very kind and generous lifeline by the WBC in spite of his vehement cheating, hes lucky to even be fighting again never mind getting a title shot.

Still a good fighter in his prime though, np.

Yeah we do, Wilder flew home from England, having never stepped foot in Russia and fleeing before the WBC even made a ruling on the meldonium. Which turned out to be within the allowable limit of the substance. Which coincidently was only recently added to the banned list without showing any performance benefits in testing. Wilder wanted no part of Povetkin. You can't give him the benefit of the doubt when he has only fought one top 10 opponent in 40 fights. And is a former Olympian pushing 33 years old
