Man, the way he controls the distance now, compared to when he just turned pro... its day and night.

The scary thing is he's still not done getting better. We haven't seen peak Loma yet.

I watched that entire video but 'richiefromboston' never explained a motive for this "geo-engineering" other than a vague money=evil comment. If it actually was happening wouldn't combating global warming be a valid explanation?

Also wouldn't "they" be poisoning themselves with all the "chemtrailing" since we all (humans) breathe the same air?

Lastly, I would just like to add that I found the sombre background music to the video to be manipulative and also a bit comedic in a melodramatic kind if way, like a save the whales or donkey sanctuary appeal for aid advert.

So, as he continues getting better, will his level of opposition continue to decline? It's going on four years since Gary Russell Jr. (and even he is just a good, solid win).

It's interesting that he's given a pass for such a run of calibrated opposition, when others have been crucified for stronger opponent selection.

Walters and Rigondeaux, two undefeated champions are "Calibrated opposition"? Lomanchenko has one of the best resumes currently and with only 11 fights.

Walters' best results came in chopping down little guys way over their optimum fighting weights. Stylistically tailor-made for Lomachenko, as all he does is hold center ring behind a decent, but not exceptional jab. In addition, he was also coming off spells of inactivity and slothfulness when Lomachenko faced him.

Rigondeaux was jumping two weight classes at age 37 (officially) after having fought only nine minutes in two years against a low level of opposition.

    Those are nicely calibrated circumstances.

If by "calibrated", you mean "Loma will whoop their ass and clown them", then sure. Theyre all calibrated to get schooled. A wide range of stylistic opposition winds up looking just as useless vs him as any other.

No reason to think Mikey or Berchelt does too much better. There's levels to it. They're really good fighters- Mikey is a HOF talent- but it won't matter.

Boxings been selling him short, as evidenced by so many picking Rigo to start with. On to the next hope.

This. He had 3 other champions he could've fought at his own weight class and instead chose Rigo, who is two divisions smaller. He needs to win against better competition before he can even begin to start living up to his hype.

It's one thing to believe he's that good, but it's another to expect others to guzzle the Kool-Aid. The "wide range of" quality "stylistic opposition" is necessary to prove he's that good, at least up to the levels that you Loma guys are putting him on. The opposition has been decidedly ho-hum after his 2-1 start, and fair to poor is the only range I see in it. We've got a 'pressure fighter' who had gone life and death with Swifty Smith and has since failed to turn the screw on the ghost of Gamboa. Then we've got three passable boxer punchers (one long in the tooth and never a world-beater even at his best, one coming off an extensive period of inactivity and career suicide after a briefly acclaimed spell of midget-beating, one coming off a loss and moving up from 126). Then, delicious cherry on the turd sundae, the little old Cuban, jumping two weight classes at age 37 (we think) after having fought only nine minutes in two years against a low level of opposition.

They did? I saw the pre-fight forum polls showing numbers between 72 and 77%. You want it more monolithic that that?

Post Russell Jr. there was some criticism, but then the Walters fight came along. But then that fell through and Loma moved up in weight. Luckily he managed to get the Walters fight and his performance made people a little forgetful.
Both Marriaga and Sosa fights got plenty of criticism but again, a good showing against Rigondeaux seems to have made people a big forgetful.

I think he is P4P the best, but i also think its a rather thin resume; Salido, Russell Jr., Martinez, Walters and Rigondeaux.

For the record, I actually like Marriaga and think he's a good, solid fighter. Had it been in Loma's 126 days, with Marriaga coming off a little run, I would've given him that one. The circumstances were hardly ideal for awarding kudos when they did meet, though - they negate the basic credit that could have been granted in ordinary circumstances.
