    Floyd Mayweather
    Paul Williams
    Miguel Cotto
    Antonio Margarito
    Joshua Clottey
    Shane Mosley
    Zab Judah

Even a fringe contender like Kermit Cintron would be a top level fighter in todays 147 division and Clottey would fight Spence, Thurman and Crawford for #1 today. The majority of those guys were REAL Welterweights.

Judad was past his best, Williams was overrrated and Clottey was average.

He beat every man he faced in Welterweight, how is he overrated?

You probably mean too tall, too rangy...using his size (not flashy reflexes), Paulie Williams was a tall order, a very big problem for any Welter from any era...facing him is a good way to catch an L

Can you picture Margarito vs Thurman? Thurman would get folded mid to late rounds from the pressure and body assault.

Spence and maybe Crawford (we need to see him at 147) are the only two who can do anything in this era.

Crawford is lucky if he becomes a Thurman or Garcia at Welter, divisions exist for a reason
