Jesus, a guy who has beat Burns & Mandingo beats a prime Pac (who was coming off a winning streak that included wins over Morales, Hatton, Oscar, Diaz, JMM, Barrera, Larios) ??? LOL Burns!!! Are you ****ing kidding me! Ricky Burns! That is what Crawfords legacy is built off! A win over him & beating another dude who has a win over him!! Burns who lost to Beltran, Alex Arthur & got dropped by & barely beat Rocky Martinez! Wtf! Not only does that PAC whoop TC so does that Cotto..

Please tell me someone is actually arguing Crawford wins??? I can't be arsed reading through the thread..

If Bud only fought righty, I could see him being put into an entirely negative shell all night, but the matchup is made more interesting by his improved productivity in the unorthodox stance (which he'd probably use from the opening bell here). Manny doesn't see a lot of lefties, and Crawford can give him some issues with his nice, hard right jab. On the other hand, having seen Bud in lefty on lefty action, and knowing that Pac is much more of a hooker when facing one of his own kind, I'd expect Manila Ice to be a factor up and downstairs. It's a bit of a trade-off for Crawford.

I think of Crawford as a very functional fighter, a good all-rounder, but not quite excellent enough in any departments to fully cross the gap from the level he's a proven cut above to the A level. I certainly think he's good enough to give 2009 Manny a pretty competitive fight, win 3 rounds or so, but the upper body movement, kinetic energy and relentlessness of Pacquiao would be harder for Crawford to find answers for than he'd expected after observing from the sidelines. I haven't seen the degrees of counterpunching know-how, nor the disposition to exchange with such a ferocious offensive specimen (which is partly informed by confidence in one's know-how, anyway), that would give me cause to think he can routinely set Manny up. At least, not this Manny, a transcendent talent in his pomp at the time he fought Cotto.

So I made it to page 4 then just got tired of reading a whole lot of tired semantics based evidence that means **** piled on **** to anyone.

Did anyone other than me bring up anything that has anything to do with technique? Obviously I didn't intend for my post to be very valuable when I wrote it, but **** look at the ****in' state of youse.

I know some of youse can give a pretty decent account of technical ability and how the styles may clash, the ****'re ya doin' though? Talking about what trinkets make yer ***** wet? Talking about what match-up was really hot? The **** is wrong with you?

Accolade wise Manny won this before the OP even asked. No one needs a review on all the **** Pac-Man has done exclusively. So if you're going to even attempt a fair compare and contrast why not you know...compare and contrast their actual in ring ability.

I had originally thought to speak on JMM, then I thought ya know what that's ****ing dumb. What does JMM have to do with Bud? Well ****...seems like my dumb thoughts, the ones I chuck away, are yer ****in' good ones.

Stop talking about what events made yer ***** juice and address some in ring ability that isn't dependant on a name for validation but rather draws it's validation from in universal usefulness for ****'s sake...like x throws a perfect overhand and Y has bad head movement or some such.

That or someone take the time to explain to my dumb ass how any of this **** about JMM, Cotto, Floyd, or Margarito changes Bud's ability to hop on timing or some such similar.

No I don't give a **** if Pac whooped Cotto proper, since when does Cotto have **** all to do with Bud?

Gamboa was the best boxer Crawford ever faced and Gamboa was beating that ass until the size came into play. Even then Gamboa almost knocked Crawford out.

Pacquiao is the same size as Gamboa, but faster, punches way harder, is a better boxer, and has a better chin.

There's a reason Floyd warned Crawford about Pacquiao. Crawford's only seen basic and conventional boxers. The speed and angles will kill him.

    Pacquiao TKO6 Crawford.

Styles make fights. Crawford's style is kryponite for Manny as seen in Manny's fights with Marquez amd as well as him getting outboxed by Floyd, Morales and in many spots Bradley. Manny's output will fall drastically after he eats a few counter rights.

Crawford outboxes him to a decision.

Gamboa boxed the **** out of Gamboa for like the first half of the fight and almost knocked that ass out. Pacquiao is faster, more dynamic, punches harder, and has a better chin. Crawford kills conventional boxers w/ zero lateral movement (basically every guy he's fought save for Gamboa).
