Well after their falling out, what do you expect? Look at how Floyd and Oscar had to deal with his crap for years after leaving him. Mikey will be no different, especially after all he's accomplished this far.

Mikey Garcia can't stop thinking of reasons why he can't fight Lomachenko: "Loma's no good," Loma's not proven," Loma only fights little guys," Loma has to fight Salido," "Loma has to fight Fulano, Mengano and Zutano and then we'll see," "Loma doesn't have a belt at 135," "Bob doesn't want the fight," etc.

Yet it should be clear to everyone by now that Loma, not Bob, calls the shots on who he wants to fight.

Mikey actually claims Loma doesn't want the fight, even though his brother admitted that Loma's manager calls them every week asking when they can begin promoting the fight.

I actually feel sorry for him. He just wanted an easy life fighting no hopers and he can't go anywhere without people asking him when he's going to fight his worst nightmare. It's the curse of every Al Haymon fighter.

Last I heard he's studying for the LSAT's. Now he's actually trying to get into law school to avoid fighting Loma.....

Oh, come on, do you really think Bob Arum liked fighting Gary Russell Jr. in Loma's third fight? Especially after a controversial second one? Think again.
All these talks that Loma is Bob Arum's puppet are hugely exaggerated. Yes, there are some discussions and contradictions of opinions between them sometimes, I'm sure, but, again, come on, it's just ridiculous.

The problem is Top Rank's deal with ESPN. Mikey would be very happy fighting on HBO and Mikey vs Lomachenko is really HBO PPV worthy. Lomachenko was an HBO fighter before Top Rank made the deal with ESPN.

A fight of this magnitude should not be happening on ESPN. This fight really has to happen on HBO. Mikey would agree to that, especially if it were an HBO PPV but why would he fight on ESPN? It's really up to Bob Arum to allow Lomachenko to fight on HBO and make this a HBO PPV.

 

That Gamboa fight is when it all started. Mikey wanted nothing to do with prime Gamboa and **** went left.

 

Boxing PPV is on the rocks and both guys are not big enough for PPV name wise.
No matter what we believe on this board the reality is that the only names that make money are Canelo, Mayweather and Pacquiao and the rest is like praying at a slot machine for Triple 7s. Garcia vs Lomachenko won't sell and would most likely be pirated at a financial loss. It's better as a ESPN fight and trying to get some of the advertisement money vs depending on fans you don't really have.
