A few thoughts... This was only 20 years ago, yet was much better matchmaking than you see nowadays for TV stuff. This was two real "glass cannons" matched against one another, guys that could dish it out a whole lot better than they could take it. Why is it classic? Well, all in just four rounds you get all of this....! A classic Lou Duva freak out, a long count controversy, three knock downs split between two fighters, momentum swings, a rousing comeback, and last but certainly not least the commentary team saying "He's in Tshabalala land!". Wilson was a good fighter. His main problem was a glass chin It was very satisfying to watch him destroy an overly hyped (an now overrated) Shannon Briggs, in one of the first "Boxing After Dark" cards in early '96.
Wilson really came to fight. Superbly game if nothing else, and I remember a commentator during one of his bouts saying that he was a converted southpaw, which somewhat explains some of the inherent power he seemed to pack in his hooks.
An enjoyable heavyweight scrap, but I don't recall Breazeale being knocked down in that one. Momentum swings and knock downs usually make for a great fight.
Ah, my memory fails me as per usual then. I do recall thinking that was one of the top 10 or even 5 fights I watched this year.
