He is supposed to fight Secola in February but maybe they will change their plans and make a rematch with Bykhautsou.
Gimbatov and Romanov both are overrated and look average. Kuzmin is the best Russian HW prospect followed by Afonin & Plechko.
He barely landed any punches, that's the problem. He seemed to be intimidated against a live body that was actually in there to win and throw punches. The few punches he landed had no effect. Bykhautsou was landing the more effective punches and out-hustled/exposed Gimbatov.
If fresh means getting tagged cleanly and appearing to be hurt in the sixth and final round, I agree. Sure, you could argue that Bykhautsou could have tired out with more rounds or that Gimbatov could have landed a lucky punch with more time, but being so sure Gimbatov would win considering what he produced in six rounds is laughable.
He wasn't tagged much and he definitely wasn't hurt. He was fresh in last two rounds don't know what fight you watched.
Gimbatov back on February 10 card against Roberto Secola. Quick fight after the loss will do him bunch of good. Secola can punch, has blistering KO ratio but his chin is suspect.
German Titov should have signed Majidov instead of Gimbatov. Despite representing Azerbaijian. Majidov is from Russia. Has any Russian promoter tried to sign him?
Have they. I didn't know that. I know some promters really wanted Levit, and Ryabinskiy tried to sign Tischenko but they failed to convince them Where do you get Russian boxing news from??, apart from allboxing.ru and akboxing.ru is there any other good sites?
Yes, promoters from US(Top Rank), Russia, Europe (Sauerland) and even promoters from UK(Warren, Hearn) have tried to sign Medzhidov. Ryabinsky offered contracts to Levit and Tischenko straight after the Rio Olympics but both rejected because of their wish to achieve more in amateur ranks but they have expressed interest to turn pro after next Olympic games. Omarov was more reluctant but didn't exclude turning pro after next Olympics but said, that he wouldn't regret not turning pro. Boxingnews.ua,vk(russian facebook), sites you mentioned, youtube and google.
Hearn wanted to sign Medzhidov at the start of his promotional career. And Hearn's father Barry as well.
Medzhidov has said, that if he would turn pro he would have to sign with promoter which is close to his home country because if you want to travel outside out of Azerbaijan you need visa and also he doesn't want to leave Azerbaijan for long. And he acknowledged that leaves him with limited option for who to sign. He could sign only with Ukraine based promoter, Kazakhstan based promoter or with Russia based promoter and he still could leave only for 90 days. And he was retired prior to Rio games but his trainer convinced him to not to retire.
