Sudden increased muscle mass and improved stamina are the biggest signs of PED use

People often speculate about what the signs of PED's are and these are the two biggest signs.

A notable example is Shane Mosley who randomly and rapidly gained like 15 pounds of muscle on a small skeletal frame. Just out of nowhere for the DLH fight he was bulked up. And he also had a very good tank. So was it a surprise that he was busted for steroids and EPO? No not at all.

Another good example is JMM who was a career skinny Featherweight. Another guy like Mosley with a small skeletal frame. Never was a big guy frame wise. Then all of sudden in his late 30s the dude becomes just absolutely ****en jacked out of his mind. He turned from skinny Mexican Featherweight to a shorter Jean Pascal at almost 40 years old.

BJS... now all of a sudden looks like a high stamina fighter after being known for a bad gas tank. Now he looks hard to beat with his new found tank. Something tells me though that tank wasn't just naturally filled up.

FFS every time a fighter puts in a very good or an excellent performance they have to be tainted with suggestions of cheating.

So because BJS was motivated, trained well and hard with his relatively new trainer and put it all together it has to be PEDS? There has to be something wrong?

I'm getting sick of this, it was nothing other than an excellent performance, it wasn't as if he was throwing punches all night at the pace of a Flyweight and punching with the power of a heavyweight, he was very relaxed, confident, boxed very smart and just paced the fight beautifully.

This sort of thread gives me the right hump.

We have a "like" option, we need a "dislike" option.

With a pentaly attached, get a certain number of "dislikes" and you get a 24 hour ban.

Incorrect. Anytime a fighter rapidly gains muscle mass or drastically improves his stamina then something is fishy. That's undeniable. I'm not talking about skill improvement, but rapid body composition change or physical attribute improvement.

Earning your living with your physical Performance is the biggest sign of Performance Enhancing Drug use. Why? Because better performance=more money. Dont be naive guys, as a rule of thumb if its available, and it makes them better and therefore alows them to make more money, and they can get away with it then they are using it. If youre driven, competitive and ruthless enough to make it to the top of any sport, but especially one that requires a mindset like boxing then taking PEDs is not a hard choice.

    Pro athletesare incredibly competitive people

BJS’ physique doesn’t indicate any PED use. His muscle tone is still very average at best. He also has no sudden bacne like Vargas, Marquez, Ward (2nd Kov fight).

You have a point. Sudden muscle and stamina increase just seem to be the most obvious physical manifestations from PED's.

more likely than not a pro athlete is using PEDs. I somewhat think the whole purpose of the strength and conditioning coach is to help the athlete pass the substance test.

Evander Holyfield is a guy who springs to mind. Qawi has suspected he used PED's, something which gives him a sudden burst of power and energy in fights. Holyfield looked absolutely **** in Bowe 3 and then Bobby Cyz and all of a sudden has the energy and strength to push Tyson around and add muscle to your frame?

At the very most he should be. You don't pay a guy just to watch you eat and exercise. He better be concocting a cocktail of whatever it takes to keep getting paid millions.

Ok i love Holy, one of my favs, plus i like him outside the ring even though he is a hammerhead,,,

Regardless, it always AMAZED me how differently Holy was fighting Cyz compared to Tyson!?!?!? He was like a brand new fighter, bigger, stronger, faster, more endurance, lol, anyways, if i was going to suspect anyone it would be Holy because that was a huge change in performance. For the most part i give Holy a free pass even though that might not be fair, lol,

Unless Holy was a genetic freak? Maybe he was a partial mutant? Would explain why you could punch him right in the face without him flinching.

FMJ, Pacman, and JMM all started their careers at 122 or lower and ended up at least at welterweight, and not only did they carry their power up with them, they all arguably gained power and speed - at least up to 140. FMJ and Pac are hands-down ATG's and arguably the two greatest fighters of the last 20 years while Marquez wasn't on their level overall but was still a great fighter. All 3 almost assuredly used some type of anabolic steroid or growth hormone or even both as they were climbing the weight classes. They also deserve all of the respect they have earned and their rightful places in the record books, which is as two ATG's and one great and three of the best fighters in the sport in the last 20 years.

Everywhere I've ever been in the US numerous black dudes and spanish dudes have told me the toughest and craziest white dudes they have come across were from Boston once they found out I was from Massachusetts. What they were really trying to say is that white kids from a select three to four neighborhoods in Boston produced a disproportionate amount of SHARKS/WOLVES than anywhere else they had seen. Sharks and wolves don't square off and shoot you a fair one, they stack the deck in their favor and ambush the **** out of you - they're predators and usually because they got sick of being the prey. Delta/SEAL Team6/SAS/SBS - who are unquestionably the most elite military units in the world - don't patrol to a compound and yell out to the enemy: "alright, come out locked and loaded, we wanna have a fair fight with you!" All that - it's sucker **** - and don't get me wrong, a HUGE majority of kids that came from those three to four Boston neighborhoods CAN fight their balls off and WILL and have boxed since a very young age, but also at a young age realized that's not how you do business if you are gonna swim with the sharks or run with the bulls. For all the kids that grew up boxing, what champion boxers have they produced? Joey Degrandis is probably the best boxer FROM Boston somewhat recently. That's because the real alphas realized in 3rd grade to train and learn enough to get them out of a bad jam if they need it, and focus on what was really gonna get them by day to day. I'm not saying any of that is cool - it's not - but it's the truth.

If you're professionally boxing at a championship level, every fight should mean a monumental amount to you, and if something means that much to you - so much you couldn't fathom living without it, you're not even trying if you aren't constantly looking for every competitive advantage you can get and even bending/breaking the rules and taking that chance when you need to. You stack the deck in your favor as much as you can and hop in the ring for the stick up. Any championship caliber fighter that doesn't is a STONE COLD SUCKER. They may be honest and they're probably really good dudes but they are gonna deserve every loss they get and them and their fans are gonna look like the sorriest set of clowns in the world when they are arguing semantics of a fair fight after the fact they got their rear ends tricked out.

Every day I realize how thankful and lucky I am to be a New England Patriots fan and to have a Head Coach/QB tandem like Belichick/Brady - who want to win more than anything in the world, and will do whatever they have to and whatever can get away with to accomplish that. NFL can fine/sanction us as much as they want and fans of other teams can put however many asterisks they want next to all of our Super Bowl wins, but at the end of the day THEY'RE crying and we're laughing, we're winning and they're losing - and that's according to the OFFICAL record books, asterisks or not.
