Floyd Patterson (my hero) Sugar Ray Robinson (all time greatest) Emile Griffith (a suburb career) Ezzard Charles (IMO one of the atg's ever) Rodrigo Valdez (wrecking machine, languished in SA for years before exploding) Carlos Monzon (what's not to like? Similar resume to Rodrigo) Eddie Gregory (never has so little been done with so much talent) Wilfred Benitez (see Gregory) Muhammad Ali (obvious) Joe Louis (obvious) several more, too many to mention...
Struggling to cut it down to five... 1. Roberto Duran 2. Sam Langford 3. Stanley Ketchel 4. Sonny Liston 5. Joe Gans Just miss out: Bob Fitzsimmons, Salvador Sanchez, Jimmy Wilde.
Ray Leonard pernell whitaker muhammad Ali ray Robinson roy jones Jones is interchangeble with Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis or AJ though. I watched 5 of Leonard`s fights the day after he had them Hagler-Norris. 7 of Whitaker`s the same month he fought those fights because they weren`t live here in Britain. I` watched Ali vs Foreman in the documentary when we were kings when it came out in 1997 in the cinema, amazing! I like Robi because of the mythical status that came across in Raging bull during the famous scene showing the end of the bout lie some horror scene, I have since watched certain rounds of their real final match. Watch all prime Roy Jones fights from the Glenn Wolfe fight onwards.
Agree. I didn't always get rez and seldom agree with him but his enthusiasm is infectious, he doesn't bear a grudge after a disagreement and he generates debate with his endless supply of GIFs. And he's got boxing's back and there are too few fans left now who are like that. And you have to admire his patience. He must have sifted through Rocky Marciano's entire career to find a couple of five second snapshots where he actually did something right
