My.. Both are at the end of the spectrum. It's hard to compare. I haven't heard of Gonzales until the last few years. I would have to go with Wlad.
I don't think it's even close. 4 weight champion vs 1 weight champion. Wlad doesn't have anybody as good as Estrada, Cuadras, or Viloria on his resume. Povetkin is about the only really solid name on Wlad's ledger. However Wlad does have 25 victories in title fights vs 16 for Gonzalez. You could argue he had a lengthier career at the top I guess but that's typical for heavyweights. It was a little more eratic with the three knockouts in the middle of his career vs Roman going undefeated until the end but kudos to Wlad for coming back from those and forging on.
Probably nothing. It's hard to compare heavyweight and flyweight. I chose Wlad cause I heard of his name and his opponents name more. I really don't know much or follow flyweight until they share roman on GGG cards.
I abstain from voting because both fought the best available. Although I do think Klitschko's C.V. is often underrated.
Klitschko Period Roman Gonzalez fought in elementary school gymnasiums for 40 fights. Hbo said "He can beat 49-0"
Fighting a top 5 opponent in an elementary gym > fighting an outside top 20 opponent in a stadium This is about resume, not finances or TV ratings.
That's who is more famous or a bigger draw, not who fought the better competition or was the better fighter p4p. You could say the same thing about their money. Gonzalez made about 2 million dollars and Wlad made 200 million. Bigger guys get more money and fame. Flyweights are never as popular as heavies. At the end of the day though, Gonzalez is a top ten all time flyweight, Wlad is a top ten all time heavyweight, and both's accomplishments should be respected.
Roman is 4weight champion, because he is hiding on those classes where big boys can't compete. Wlad was champion where the real men fight. Roman can't beat even one name on Wlad resume. Weighclasses were created so everybody could feel a champion.
Oh, I love that. Floyd Mayweather couldn't beat one heavyweight that Klitschko fought so obviously his entire career is a sham and a lie and who gives a ****?
