The Tuaman from Ruiz fight against Wilder from Bermain Buffet 2.
Short and stocky versus Tall and lanky. Who's kissing the canvas?

The Tuaman gets to Wilder and ICES him early. Sorry to say so, but the Tuaman had that Somoan jaw and would not be intimidated by Wilder.

Tough to call. Tua always had trouble with taller fast guys who had decent jabs. But a lot of times, his determination and power helped bail him out late in fights he was losing. Tua from the Ruiz fight was still a little green, so I think Wilder could keep him at the end of the jab for at least awhile.

I could see 2 possible scenarios. One where Wilder sticks to his boxing and wins a decision by being cautious and not allowing the much smaller Tua to get in range. Wilder has shown he can box a pretty disciplined and cautious fight when needed too and that he can out box a much smaller plodder like when he outpointed Stiverne.

The other scenario is similar to the first but at some point he loses focus and allows Tua an opportunity to get to him. It probably happens late and we've seen Tua out boxed before and then suddenly KO them late. Wilder did get caught a few times late in the first Stiverne fight and Tua hits way harder than Stiverne and Wilder does keep his right hand very low to invite Tua's big left hook. Tua only needs one chance to land and is a better fighter than anyone Wilder has fought to date.

    Wilder UD.

Tua would need a step ladder to get anywhere near him, Wilder for all his flaws would keep Tua at the end of his jab like he did Stiverne in their first fight. Also Wilder would have the power to keep Tua from just rushing in and getting lucky.

I cannot see how a little stubby 5'9 guy beats Wilder, despite Wilder's deficiencies.

2nd round win for Tua by sickening KO which is hard to watch!

Every opponent he has ever fought bar seriously ill and then shot to pieces Fat Stiverne has landed on him. Tua wouldn't be any different, he'd just have the tools to hurt Wilder and the ability to hold a shot.

If we are talking the Tua that was around 228/230 them yes he has a chance but the Tua that showed up against Lewis then I'm sorry but I don't think he has a chance at all.

But remember the mythical "prime" Tua needed a MD against Jeff Wooden and was being boxed on level terms until late rounds stoppages by both Maskaev and Izon, fighters who are no better than the poop that Wilder has been fighting.

    I'd be rooting for Tua.

A few posters are suggesting that Wilder would keep Tua at a distance and outbox him but I’ve never seen anything to suggest that he has anywhere near the skill level required to do that.

Tua s body shots would be enough to buckle and bend Wilder and a swift switch upstairs would terminate Deontay.

OMG, I would LOVE to see this fight! If Wilder jabs and runs, Tua starches him late like he did Maskaev and Izon. If Wilder comes at him, he gets annihilated early like Ruiz.

One thing is for sure - that glass jaw would get SHATTERED!

I just can't answer any questions about Wilder anymore. Surely it's not unreasonable to ask to see him fight somebody really good before we pitch him in with really good fighters?

Tua, as soon as Wilder makes 1 mistake. That 1 mistake would be early because usually Wilder goes back to the ring corner, than decides to circle the ring. Bad, bad mistake for Wilder.

I can't envision a scenario in which a prime Tua doesn't win by brutal KO. Wilder is no Lewis or even an Ibeabuchi(that losing effort is better than ANY performance of Wilders career) Duhaupas busted him up(very slow and predictable) converted Southpaw Szpilka was actually outboxing him for stretches(as was Washington) part time teacher Molina rocked him with a left hook Tua's money punch. Seriously.. You've got to be smoking something if you aren't picking Tua here.
