A lot of experts think Floyd is the greatest of all time now and certainly believe a fight between him and Ray would maybe answer that question. Ray had a great first fight with Duran but lost, in the rematch Duran was bad and would have been outboxed easily by Floyd, it would be the same as the Pac fight though I do think Duran at his best was far better than Pac. Leonard beat Benitez and Hearns, Hagler was nowhere near these fighters levels when he fought Ray in 87 and Floyd was far better than that but was too small to fight Marvin so that comparison is more complex, so the question is which two fighters did Floyd fight that can compare to these two legends, you could look at a few maybe in the fact that they would have given Ray serious problems, Maidana, Cotto, De La Hoya would have given Ray problems, Ray often left himself open to counter rights because he left his lead low after jabbing and Floyd had the greatest counter right in history against Hearns Ray corrected this though by holding both hands high to get inside in a hell of a performance.

 

I rank SRL a bit higher than Fluid. They both greats!

Duran would in no way be out boxed by Floyd easily.

 

Leonard was a level beyond Floyd as a defensive fighter, no way could Floyd have played with Duran the way Ray did and that’s the good news for Mayweather!

As an offensive fighter SRL was 10 times anything FMJ has ever displayed in a fight, Leonard was a great judge of distance and had amazingly quick footwork and feigns also Ray hit harder, had faster hands and threw more combinations than Floyd.

As good as Floyd was at defence and being hard to hit Ray would have caught up with him.
