I think Tommy starts too fast for him and gets him early, most likely.

Moorer was very good, but Morrison is a legendary fighter. Tommy was a left hook master at that. Stronger, faster, loads more powerful. Maybe not as good a chin but still for everything else tommy by k.o. before the 3rd in a one-sided show of completely unawnsered aggression

The Duke struggled with southpaws. Joe Hipp he suffered a broken jaw and
hand and against Yuri Vaulin countless punches. Moorer is a superior
southpaw and in another brutal battle Moorer wins on pts.

Depends on who lands the first punch first. Moorer was another chinny but Morrison was equally chinny

Great matchup. I see these two going 50/50. If forced to lean hard one way or the other, I’ll take Morrison due to Moorer’s psychological instability. Despite his limitations and chinned-ness, Morrison had a wreckless confidence about himself.

Morrison could be careless when launching his attacks and Moorer could equally get a lucky punch in.

Morrison was legendary? I don't know about that. He had good power and ok skills.

he had one of the best left hooks in this sports history, maybe not a whole lot else, but he was a very impressive fighter

Interesting match up. If Moorer boxed safely he might take it. But Tommy Gunn would bring out the fire and this most likely turns into a brawl for it all.

    I lean towards Moorer a bit...more.

I liked to watch him, but legendary? He was not. He was a decent fighter with good power and I was shocked when he outboxed George Foreman, but he was not legendary at all.

I don't like Morrison against southpaws. Throwing him in with such an accurate fighter like MM might see him getting hit with literally everything Moorer throws. ko4.after Tommy goes down about 4x & the ref waves it off.

Morrison was ranked twice in the Ring's Annual rankings, both times at #9. Moorer made the same ratings 8 consecutive years, as high as #3, 6 times at #4. What do we know now that they did not know in the 1990s?

There is simply a gulf of talent and ability between the two fighters.

    Moorer KO3

(And by the by, if you want to see how Morrison did against southpaws, watch him against Hipp and Vaulin, two guys who weren't exactly worldbeaters who gave him very rough outings. Hell, Vaulin wasn't even a heavyweight, if memory serves.)

Moorer failed against every elite puncher he fought i.e. Foreman, Tua. Morrison can turn his lights with the left hook but can Moorer counterpunch Morrison surviving that left hook?
