December 29th for the vacant Italian Heavyweight Title.

These slugging goombas are each 7-0-1, and that mutual draw is versus each other. It was in July, a technical draw after three rounds that were quite the wild ride:

In terms of pure excitement (though certainly not even close in terms of skill level, when compared against Doheny vs. Chaiporn tomorrow, or the big Japanese end-of-year shows the weekend following this) it might be the FOTROTY. (fight of the rest of the year ;))

Literally never heard of either of these two... and I'm a pretty big follower of the HW division. Looking at their Boxrecs it's easy to see why

    Probably will do.

Will also check the fight in the OP out sometime during the week. On the matter of exciting low level HW brawls. This is hard to beat.

You have, however, heard of the man that will stand as the #1 contender lying in wait for either Cardillo or De Berardino once they actually achieve a real result: provided he gets through the third leg of his comeback tour, 3-7 Hungarian cruiser Tibor Laczo this coming Friday) - none other than former WBC CW titlist Giacobbe Fragomeni.

That's right, at 48, old Frag is still kicking. (err...make that punching. Err...make that winging haymakers...)

I am actually quite familiar with both of these clowns...which is a sign I've seen entirely too much shitty European undercard boxing in the last several years...

I really don't want to see Frag incur a loss on his record to a mediocre domestic opponent he would've dusted off in his prime (when he was outer fringe world class on grit and workrate alone) - but the only way to derail that happening- barring an injury - is for him to lose to 3-7 Hungarian cruiser punching bag Tibor Laczo.

I don't think these two are capable of lasting 10 versus each other. Both the physically stronger Nervoso and the marginally more skilled (at least in terms of footwork, range control and jabbing - all his "power punches" are slaps with all the technique of an eleven year old girl...) Cardillo looked a bit testy near the end, fed up with each other's roughhousing and eager to land something big and equally dissatisfied with the anticlimax. Speaking of which, poor quality video and everything but that cut didn't look anywhere near bad enough to stop it, IMO.

I'm rooting for another draw or no contest, though, just to stall out the Fragomeni match for either (by forcing a Cardillo vs. De Berardino III) in the hopes that he doesn't feel like standing by until his 49th birthday and just says "the hell with it" and stops chasing the last scrap of glory.

Look at my post count and the # of RBR threads I've made this year compared with any year between 2009-2016. I've practically quit following the sport cold turkey.
