For me its a toss up between IDGAF and OMGWTFBBQ, I know I'm splitting hairs here, but I think we need another option. Not to sound too persnickety but for me there's a huge schism between IDGAF and OMGWTFBBQ.:ohno

This “Lewis had the momentum” stuff cracks me up. He threw everything he had at Vitali in the 6th round and practically fell onto his stool gasping for air. The doctor would have most likely had a talk with Vitali’s corner and Fritz would have probably told him “It has to be this round. Get him out of there.” Then Klitschko would have thrown everything he had at Lewis and eventually caught him and decked him for a 10 count.

Lewis was DONE after that 6th. And there was a reason he would rather do his best to help and pep talk Corrie Sanders and Danny Williams rather than fulfill his promise and rematch Vitali. And it’s not just because his mom begged him not to ;)

Should be merged into the "robbery " thread.

Vitali was the visibly more hurt man in the sixth.

Vitali was exhausted himself. He'd gone at too high a pace from the start of the fight, and getting cut as badly as he did forced him to keep a high pace throughout the 4th and 5th. He was increasingly clinching to buy himself a breather and had no power in his punches by the 6th round. Lewis might have been exhausted too, but he was the only one getting any effective offensive in.

Watch Lenni at the end of round 6. He is totally gassed out and has nothing left in the tank to finish Vitali off with

The end of round 6? When Lewis was the one throwing punches and Vitali was desperately clinching and leaning all over Lewis trying to see the round out?

For my information, as it's beyond me to read all of them,

do the 585 pages of this thread all concern the outcome of Lewis-Klitschko and the demographically motivated moaning and sniping that always seems to go hand in hand with online discussion of that fight?

We're not talking about a Cotto-Margarito II situation, where it seemed like state officials had too abruptly halted a fight to offer an extra layer of protection to the interests of a local franchise. The damage inflicted upon Vitaly's face had worsened to an atypical degree, and the physician felt that he was too badly cut to allow the fight to continue in good conscience. The old-timer won by TKO and then hung 'em up with nothing more to prove, leaving the Klitschkos to boss the next generation. How does it ever get to 585 pages without mental illness being involved?

Lewis couldn't even move his arms to punch Vitali at the end of round 6. Vitali had already seen the worst.

Oh really? So I must have imagined that jab, uppercut and left Lewis threw just before the bell rang.

Seriously, the fight's available on YouTube right now. I'm watching it as I type this. It might be better to refresh your memory somewhat.

The "Lewis was practically fell onto his stool gasping" stuff cracks me up. He had taken everything Vitali could throw at him and had taken the momentum. The doctor stopped the fight to save Vitali from getting seriously hurt or stopped. He had his chance but failed to get him out of there. Lewis would of thrown everything at Vitali in the next round and eventually caught him and decked him for a ten count.

Anyone can make up any kind of bull**** to suit their opinion. Fact is nobody knows what would of happened in the next round had it continued. Maybe Lewis would of gassed, maybe that 1 minute rest was all he needed to finish off Vitali who was holding on for dear life at the end of the 6th having been hurt badly by a Lewis right hook.

No matter how long this thread goes, everyone knows Lewis RAN from the re-match, and tried to makes other matches with Roy Jones and Kirk Johnson. When the WBC ordered the rematch, it got real and not even Lewis and his Ego could trump his reasoning. He wasn't winning the re-match and got lucky down 4-2 on all three cards to win in the first match.
