All right, listen up, Daniel Dubois can be special. I saw his fights this morning. He's an A+ natural puncher, who lands with a thud. One finishing shot look like dynamite exploded in his opponents face, another blow threw his opponent backward on to the canvas.

Dubois is a very gifted puncher. He looks a little stiff in the lower body, and at age 20 has a lot to learn, but I think he has a real future. The fundamentals are fair, and he's somewhat patient. Dubois is 6'4" 1/2, with a 78" reach, and fighting in the low 230's. I hope he does not add too much weight.

Don't ask me how his chin, stamina, or defense is. We are not going to know for a while. He'll be tough to match early in his career.

Possibly. We don't have any true one punch hitters at heavyweight in the UK, imo, so it is possible that Dubois is our hardest puncher.

However he has fought at area level and no higher than that. Therefore I think it's too early to say that he is our biggest hitter. We'll see how hard he really hits after he has fought some decent opponents who can take a punch.

He'll need more than a punch, Earnie Shavers hit as hard if not harder than anyone and he never reached the top like others did. Power alone is impressive but will only take you so far.

But we'll see what he can do when he does eventually step up. Maybe he can be a threat to the top guys or maybe he falls away like Price. But he's definitely one to watch.

I've been watching this game for the 30+ years. I'm telling you he's a world-class puncher. Better than AJ, and even Wlad.

Fair disclosure. I'm not British and tend to view British prospects at heavyweight with a little extra scrutiny, but that is based on history. However I'm honest enough to realize that each man is his case, and should not be downgraded due to geographical location.

Dubois hits on Tua's level, but with much better variety and skills. By the way, he floored Joshua in sparring recently.

So let's stick him in with Hrgovic and see how he gets on!

Actually a good fight for Hrgovic would be the Joyce rematch but cannot see it ever getting made.

would be nice to see if he has a chin. if so then he will definitely be something based on the skills seen so far.

Looks like he has a Glass Jaw though?

Sometimes with a fighter you can just look at them and know.

He's going to be reared on more bums and get a nice big Femi payday down the line.

Is it just me that finds heavyweight boxing one of the least exciting divisions? It seems that developing muscle mass somehow compensates for boxing skills and is used as shortcut to success especially when they look aesthetically amazing and are provided with a conveyer belt of cardboard cutouts to knock over.

Dubois has had a total of 9 rounds of professional boxing so far. He needs to get more rounds in, even if that means holding back on the trigger a bit.

Right, I mean I think Dubois looks good but what exactly is it you're seeing specifically to say he's a better puncher than Wlad?

He needs more rounds and needs testing a bit. I agree with what Frank is doing and not rushing him but he does need the rounds. Very little amateur career too.

Far too early to tell but he needs to learn slowly with half decent opponents for a year or two but can see Warren feeding him to big fight within 2018 and he might fall short cos he only knows dynamic wins and hasn’t got plan B when he hits someone and they are still standing.

Don't confuse better raw puncher vs better KO artists as they are different. Skills, speed, an accuracy mean a lot.

But in terms of raw punching power, the way Dubois opponents move and react when he hits them to me is even more impressive than Wlad's. Its like someone instantly takes their legs out from under them and many times he's not even landing flush.

It' a great division when you get a good fight but they are few in far between. Too much holding and as you say lack of skill in most of the match ups.
