Thanks for getting straight to the point. I don’t think UFC2015 will give up though.

Since your ability to rationalize boxing history’s biggest upset at 42 to 1 odds is better than your reading comprehension, I’ll ask you again.

How would you feel if the powers that be actually overturned the Douglas/Tyson result from Tyson LKO10 to WKO8?

If you think Tyson is unjustifiably hated now, I think it would be much worse.

I have to say that Mike was extremely dirty in both the Bruno and Ruddock rematches which preceded the Holyfield fights.

Mike was a dirty fighter long before Holyfield butted him.

Not just the Ruddock fights, the Tillis fight, the Botha fight. If people are using the Bruno fight and the Vitali fight (when he was not an elite heavyweight and ATG at the time) as proof of his toughness and over coming adversity, then the Ruddock, Tillis and Botha fight get an equal mention.

Ruddock was a highly feared fighter and the no 2 contender for the heavy weight titles at the time, he was avoided by Holyfield and Foreman and people feared Tyson was taking a huge career risk by fighting Ruddock in a non title bout at the time.

    Ruddock's trunks were illegally high

Douglas did not want the rematch, not Tyson's fault. He was past his best for his other losses and History will make a note of that fact.

The fact that Tyson had an ATG chin and was an impossible man to floor should not be held against him, the fact that 99% of the times if he will not go down should not be held against him.

Nah, History is not that black and white. Everyone knows that the Tyson after 1988 and in the major losses of his career was not the same Tyson. He has battled and overcome adversity.

The referee was extremely slow in counting. In fact the ringside guys were on 5 and 6 when the referee was on 1-2

The referee on that night himself is saying when Douglas got knocked down, it was like his kid got knocked down and he was determined to help back up. Watch from 14:20 onwards

The amount of fouls Holyfield committed in both the bouts completely overdid the no of fouls that Tyson committed in his career. Secondly please Ruddock kept his shorts extremely high.

No difference to be honest. Everyone knows deep down Tyson at his worst withstood the 8 rounds of Brutal punishment Douglas dished out to him and still Tyson knocked him down for 10 seconds plus. The best version of Tyson will always beat the best version of Douglas 10 times out of 10.

Hi UFC , in one comment in the post above you claim that Mike was " impossible to floor ".

Ummm didnt he get floored vs Douglas ?

I also feel you are heavily overrating Razor Ruddock. Ruddock was stopped by Dave Jaco. Donovan looks so skinny n light here, he must have been on the steroids later on.

Ruddock looked awful against Mike Weaver...

Ruddock's only other win of any note at all other than beating Weaver was against Dokes who had already been kayoed by Holyfield and Coetzee and who was also a cocaine addict.

I feel you are heavily overrating Ruddock who while a heavy puncher with a great left hook was actually a very ordinary technician and a guy who wasnt reknowned for being tough.

Welcome to the club you Tyson Hater you...lol!

Not sure if you’ve followed my back and forth with UFC2015 or not, but he likes to claim Atlas lacks credibility since he’s mad about missing out on all that prime Tyson money. I agree that he is and I explain the real reason behind Atlas’s departure.

That said, Tyson only has himself to blame for getting his @55 thoroughly kicked by a 42 to 1 underdog. By the time he fought Douglas, Tyson’s lack of character compelled him to surround himself with Yes Men who were only along for their ride on the Tyson gravy train. Not only did Tyson fail to prepare properly, his corner let him down to he point that I’m sure Teddy either blew a gasket or laughed out loud at 29:56 of the video below.

I’m sure Atlas and Rooney would have been much more help to Tyson. However, like the PHONY that Atlas accuses him of being, he got too full of himself and preferred to dismiss anyone who would hold him accountable.

I can’t remember. Did Tyson ever find his mouthpiece or did they just leave it in the ring?

Are you going to answer the question or demonstrate your powers of bad math?

Tyson could never beat Douglas 10 out of 10 times. Since he already got his @55 kicked by boxing history’s biggest victorious underdog, the best Tyson could do against Douglas is 9 out of 10.

You can do better than that Macklemore.

After like what 10 rounds of brutal one sided punishment in which he took 200 punches, jabs to the face?

It's very easy for the Tyson hate club to now dismiss the grit Tyson showed against Ruddock given how Ruddock got destroyed after the Tyson wars and his went to pieces afterwards but Ruddock was a feared fighter of the time, the number 2 contender of the time and avoided by Holyfield, Foreman. But regardless of whether Ruddock is over rated or not, Tyson showed grit, heart and over came adversity against him which is what this thread is about.

That was not the best version of Tyson that Douglas beat. My comment was the best version of Tyson will beat the best version of Douglas 10 times out of 10.

Are you a lawyer? Your ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth is remarkable. Delusional but still remarkable.

After repeatedly touting Botha for having troubled, actually I believe you said dominated, Tyson for 5 rounds, now you’re saying Tyson NEVER had problems with movers after the Tillis fight. If that’s the case, please explain how exactly did The White Buffalo dominate Tyson for 5 rounds since we all know it was due to his punching power with 29 KOs out of 63 fights.

Come on Macklemore! We’re 17 pages and counting into this discussion and you think you’re gonna get off easy by saying the best version of Tyson beats the best version of Douglas. That’s too easy and unfairly grants a pass to your idol.

Since I like killing ants with sledgehammers, check this out. I can use the best version criteria for the following fighters:

The best SRR beats the best Randy Turpin
The best Ali beats the best L. Spinks
The best Pryor beats the best Bobby Joe Young
The best Curry beats the best Honeyghan
The best Tyson beats the best Douglas, Williams, McBride
The best Lewis beats the best McCall and Rahman
The best Holyfield beats the best Ruiz
The best Hopkins beats the best Joe Smith Jr.

You get my point, so I’ll stop.

Fact of the matter is that your idol got his @55 kicked by a 42 to 1 underdog.
