Canada Simon Kean-two time national champion. So far has blown out everybody in front of him. had a close fight with Yoka in amateurs which he won, on the count back. Looks relentless in his attacks but doesn't protect his chin properly. His chin is questionable at best.... Kean was stopped at least 4 times in amateurs. Kean is set face Solomon Haumono next. Big step up for Kean but if he is any good he will beat him. Mladen Miljas-looks like a monster puncher but I'm eager to see how he will look against better fighters. Oleksandr Teslenko-he is one of the better North American prospects. He is from Ukraine but he is representing Canada. looks skilled and has speed and power to his arsenal. I'm eager too see how he will look against heavyweights with deeper amateur experience than him or with bigger experience as a pro. From seeing his amateur fights I can't see how he can be a champion but everything else remains to be seen.
What about this Charles Martin fellow? I stopped following boxing as much a couple of years ago but this kid seemed like he might have some potential...
Miljas got dropped hard in one of his latest fights by the Stay Puffed Marshmallow man. It was a double knockdown, but Miljas was the one not passing a field sobriety test. He was in BAD trouble the rest of the round too, if the other guy wasn't so bad and in such bad shape he'd have been getting counted out. He also hit the guy flush with everything and the sink and never seemed to slightly hurt him, even the double KD was due to balance.
Andy Ruiz should not be underestimated, esp. with his new trainer and conditioning coach, but there are so many excellent Eastern European fighters coming up, Sirenko for example. Teslenko is fighting out of Canada, he is a very good fighter with really good technique, good amateur fighter..........
why is it the heavyweight seems to have the weakest talent pool? these prospects aren't all that good compared to other weight classes imo. looking for actual decent heavyweight prospects is like scraping for money in the bottom of a barrell. lol. hard to find and not many
Yes, Morrison is not that big, but he hits extremely hard..................I think he is back in training now since his surgery, so he can make waves, esp. with Wilder who has a glass jaw and not much defence, wide punches, Wilder has never fought a legit fighter yet, this is a disgrace, he should have had his title taken away by now! At least forced to fight someone legit, Ortiz might still be OK, but he is old as hell!
Honduras Donnie Palmer-6′10″feet tall heavyweight sports a 9 wins 1 SD loss and one DRAW pro record and has 8 KO's out of 10 fights. He is set to fight on january 2 and january 10 in China. Palmer is managed by Al Haymon. He looks really basic, has some power but doesn't trade in center and likes to stay on ropes. In all he is KO waiting to happen if he hasn't improved.
