Yeah this is correct. Article below is dated 3rd Aug 2015. Peter Fury says he needs 7-8 weeks, Wilder wants it in 4 weeks.

"We got a call from one of our associates in America and asked if Hughie would take the fight," Peter Fury told ESPN. "We said yes but it would we would need seven or eight weeks, so the end of September would be fine.

"Four weeks was mentioned but we would need more than that to get Hughie ready. It's not about the money, it's about giving Hughie a chance to win the fight."

    http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/...orld-heavyweight-championship-says-peter-fury

Another article confirming the timing is wrong, Fury wants a full training camp before a title shot. They here nothing back from Wilder's team in regards to allowing them a full 7-8 week camp.

“We’ve asked for more time but haven’t heard anything,” said Peter Fury, who is currently preparing nephew Tyson to face heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in October.

“Of course my lad would take the Wilder fight, with it being for the WBC title, but only when he’s had a proper training camp and that’s not much to ask for.”

Wilder then fights Duhaupas on 26th Sept 2015.

So on the 3rd Aug he offers Hughie the fight, says must be in 4 weeks. Peter Fury asks for 7-8 weeks, wants it at the end of September. Peter hears nothing back from Wilder's team. Then Wilder fights Duhaupas at the end of September as Peter Fury wanted.

So it was 53 days or 7 weeks and 4 days from the time of the offer and the time Wilder fought next. Factor in the offer was made it was done 1 week after Hughie had just fought. Wilder called out Hughie and wanted him to fight twice in a 5 week period.

Tony Bellew. Wilder said he won't fight him even though the payday would be multiple times higher than what Wilder gets in the US fighting his usual set of tomato cans.

You can add Bryant Jennings. Back in 2012 the fight was negotiated but Wilders handlers, Golden Boy at the time said the time wasn't right, even though Jennings was down to fight.

Wilder does not want to fight a legit fighter, why should he? He has gotten by with all voluntary title fights for years, he never earned the title in the first place! Wilder does not want to fight Joshua, Parker, or anyone else who can fight even a little bit! Wilder does not have to fight, he wants his fights in Alabama where the sheep are nervous!

It's becoming increasingly obvious that Wilder has ducked almost all of the challenging bouts available at HW.

How can his deluded fanbase defend this?

    Amazing.

To be fair to Wilder, he had already agreed to fight Kelvin Price in December that year which is why they turned down that fight.

Povetkin shamefully side stepped Wilder by fighting Mariuz Wach.. He should have went right into the Wilder fight but was so juiced up on beast pellets he needed time to wash them out of his system. He was dopped up so heavily there was still traces left in his system 8 months later.

I always found Wladimir Klitschko's comments about Wilder to be very strange. They should have been rivals, Wlad should have been seen as Wilder's ultimate target when he was coming through.. exactly how Fury treated him.

Wlad was always very reserved when asked about Wilder, usually played down any possible fight between them or just avoiding the question altogether. Remember thinking it's clear as day that there was a 'gentleman's' agreement between them that they wouldn't fight... no doubt to protect Wilder.

    example...

So what? Meldonium was legal in 2015 when Povetkin fought Wach you spastic. And it was Wilder who ducked Wlad. Wilder wanted no part of Wlad after getting humiliated in sparring, that's why he chose to become the mandatory to the WBC title which was held by that useless fat penguin Stiverne. Wilder didn't want to be the mando of Wladimir because his fraudulent career could have been over easily without winning a title.

Is was on the watch list and Povetkin shouldn't have been talking it. Meladonium is a PED that improves cardio vascular capacity.

From that interview to me it seems that Wlad thought Wilder was up for fighting better opposition but his management and team around him were the ones deciding the opposition and he lacked the influence to make the calls on who he fought and that from Wlad's point of view he was likely not going to get a shot at Wilder. Finkel himself said they were not going to chase Wlad after Wilder beat Stiverne which makes it clear Wilder's people didn't want the Wlad fight. Wilder himself probably wanted it, but he wasn't in a position to call the shots.

PED my ass that stuff can be bought over the counter in EE countries. WADA labelled it a PED because of the political campaign against Russia. Meldonium doesn't have the same effect on performance as other (real) perfomance enhancing drugs. In fact it has a similar effect as the workout supplement named L-Carnitine that is used by Western athletes and it is considered legal by WADA.

"There's really no evidence that there's any performance enhancement from meldonium. Zero, said Don Catlin, a long-time anti-doping expert and the scientific director of the Banned Substances Control Group.

The evidence around whether it is a performance-enhancing drug is quite thin, said Mark Stuart, a pharmacist in London who is on the medical and antidoping commission of the European Olympic Committees."

Thats a moot point.. You can buy all sorts of drugs over the counter in EE countries that you need a prescription for everywhere else.

L-Carnitine is just an amino acid you can buy in Tesco.
