Prime Tony Thompson vs Deontay Wilder Thoughts on this fantasy matchup? I think Thompson has a much better ring IQ than Wilder's best opponents (Stiverne, Washington) and would be able to avoid the Windmills long enough to shatter Wilder's Glass Jaw in round 5. Thoughts?
Thompson TKO. In his prime he gave Wlad some problems and was very hard to time with his awkward style. Outboxes him en route to a stoppage win. Wilder's handlers avoided Thompson on the way up for a reason! That wasn't a prime Thompson either.
Thomson lost most of his big fights but if could get out of the early rnds he could do it .If he lost Wilder should say cheers ears!.
Thompson is probably better than anyone Wilder has fought to date. But much like Duhaupas I don't think he has the weapons to really hurt Wilder. His lack of speed will see him out sped, his lack of power will mean he'll struggle to seriously hurt Wilder unless he lands flush. Wilder probably wins a decision in a close fight where is speed and power sees him impose himself enough to earn the judges nod.
Wilder would outpoint prime Thompson narrowly. the old Thompson that the K bros faced, Wilder would undoubtably stop once TTs tank ran out.
Thompson gets knocked out. Besides beating David Price twice and a fat Solis Thompson hasn't done anything to make me believe Wilder doesn't stop him in 5-6 rounds. Beating a Price isn't a big deal, since even a scrub like Christian Hammer was able to stop Price. This content is protected
Pretty sure Tony the Tiger gets busted for blood pressure meds before they even get close to share the ring. If we're not talking about current Thompson, that's a fight I could see happening.
"The old Thompson that the K bros faced." 1. Only Wlad fought Thompson. Twice. Once in 2008 the other in 2012. 2. 2008 was PRIME Thompson
yeh thank one of k bros thank for correction on that. BUT no tony was late 30s or getting there when wlad cherrypicked him twice, absolutely NOT prime.
WRONG. That was a PRIME Thompson who hadn't lost since like his 3rd or 4th fight. Thompson picked up the gloves late, so he was older than most when he reached his prime as fighter. Sorry to burst your anti-Klitschko bubble.
