Surprised to see Nelson's name associated with a "fantasy" fight, considering the sleep inducers he inflicted on us. However, would expect him to peck and clinch his way to a points win at this early stage in Yarde's career. Doubt if it would be on PPV though!
Hard to put Yarde into any fantasy fights as of yet considering he hasn't even fought anyone at British level yet
I just watched Nelson do a really irritating layed on impression of a Jamaican accent. I nearly ****ed the laptop out the window it was that bad. Anyway, like said above. Ive seen enough of Johny Nelson prime to not ever ever ever put him in a fantasy fight ever. Terrible to watch. Give me Carl Thompson all day long instead
I watched JN in his e arly career, and rated him highly... Then he always seemed to lose, and people laughed, i kept on following and watching knowing he would get something out of it, in many ways JN is an unsung hero... But lets not go there.
His book is quite inspirational. Most of his 12 defeats came at heavyweight. I really like him although it’s a shame he shamelessly bangs the matchroom drum in hyping the likes of Conor Benn etc. He’s gotta make a living though.
When do you consider Nelson prime? When he was facing De Leon? Warring? Thompson? I like Nelson but hes one of those fighters where I feel his prime could be debatable. At this time I would have to favour Nelson
Holy ****!!!!.... Now Yarde vs Carl Thompson would be a war!!!! Could see it going the way of the Haye/Thompson fight actually. Don't think Yarde is any where near the finished article so hard to gauge but, I reckon Nelson would outbox him and TKO him late as things stand at the mo.....
