Marciano was 30/31 and 185 to 190.

If Charles was an old light heavyweight, Marciano was an old light heavyweight.

Why does career "slope" matter, you dont care Moore was at his fighting peak. And so far you got two questionable names...that it? Marciano has more relevant wins than that.

My gosh, Bruno was a joke but you act like he was Gerry Cooney of the second minute of the Holmes fight who can beat any Heavyweight Champion in history including the Holmes of the Holmes fight. Well. Since this is obviously the new year of being ridiculous, let me tell you how Scott Frank would wipe Brunos HORIZONTAL HEAVYWEIGHT ass all across England if they ever fought. Then, I will tell you how Buster Mathis, because he is bigger, cleans up on everyone from Patterson on down to Sullivan. Because they are bigger, Willard and Carnera beat Mathis.

 

Not really Charles had a ton of mileage on his clock and had won only 2 of his last 4 fights.
Nobody who is being objective would call Charles prime when he fought Marciano ,whereas Marciano most certainly was.

 

If you weren't special, you weren't beating Bruno. When I mean special, I mean the very best. He just couldn't beat the very best. Everyone that beat Bruno I expect to beat Marciano easier ! If they were evenly matched size wise then its obvious a beating ensues in favour of The Rock

 

Nope Moore had 218 fights and over 150 of them were in the lower divisions. Moore's mother insisted he was 2 years older than he claimed.

If you think that these people would have beaten Marciano, then I have to say that many would beg to differ.

These losses are not in themselves all that damaging.

The US census actually states Liston was 10 in 1940. I believe it to be correct. Listons official birthdate was a guess.
