Why do Marciano fans attempt to downplay Liston & Foreman?

    Read all the threads i highlighted and tell me they were not attempting to lower Foremans stock and in some cases at the same time raising Marciano's.

    You are making a big, and largely incorrect assumption, about the age of Marciano supporters.

    Distance makes the allure all the greater for many younger fans.

    The younger ones are, in general, much more realistic in their views.
    SuzieQ being a prime example.
    Some of the older generation however are firmly entrenched in their opinions, similar to how Burt was with Dempsey.

    Some mentioned the other day that they had been in contact with Burt and if this is the case, i wish him well.

    No, you have one poster who happened to be a fan of one fighter and critical of another who has not posted in years I believe, thus no longer relevant. Your hypothesis is a huge stretch of assumptions that go against the rules of logic. In short, you are coming off paranoid and quite strange. Tin Foil Hat strange.

    At this point in time there are three anti Marciano threads on the first page, and no anti Foreman or Liston threads.
    But of course it is the pro Marciano posters who are acting like a deranged cult!

    Mongoose, an excellent poster!

    He was the guy that obliterated Dino in a ban bet, and the said snail (slug? roach?) went on to welch on the bet. Mongoose made many good posts. In fact, I should go Like some of his old stuff, just because. :)

    For the record...I am a huge Sonny Liston and Rocky Marciano fan.

    I rate Liston above Marciano, only slightly. Both very underrated greats by the modern fans
