Froch believes Bivol is part of the reason Ward retired

The Kessler fight was his best win but that was some of the most biased officiating I have ever seen and the same can be said about Kovalev 2.

But the record book says they are both wins and imo Ward would still have beaten Kessler if they had fought elsewhere and he was on his way to beating Kovalev in their rematch.

He fought 2 nobodies and Barrera a legit threat, he didn't just move up to 175 to fight Kovalev after a layoff....he had 3 fights at a weight he competed at in the amateurs.

Ward is horrible to watch, he's dirty....wrestles and it's not just against top opposition if he needs to....just look at the Rodriguez fight....horrendous.

Ward is elite but when have you ever seen fellow P4P fighters like GGG....like FMJ....like Lomachenko....like Rigo.... have to wrestle inferior opponents not just a little but for a full 12rounds to get a win?

It's an effective style which has served him well but talent wise he isn't on the level of a Floyd, Pac, Lomachenko etc.

Most definitely agree.

Ward's starting to make noise again...he'll come back depending on the money on offer and just which fighter preveils.

We have to remember yes he got the W twice against Kovalev but he then went to try and make fights with Buglioni and Calum Johnson.

 

Which actually makes his achievements even better. He,s a great fighter there shouldn,t even need to be a debate about that. His fights against kovalev we,re entertaining enough. Just showed when he was pushed...he could go to that other level. Bit similar to Hopkins. Hopkins used every single trick in the book. Hopkins was actually worse at it for me. But doesn't,t really take away from the fact they we,re both great fighters.

Its part of the game. Guys like loma etc have skills to burn which are apparent for all to see...but ring IQ like ward and Hopkins had are still part of the game. Its still an attribute that's often overlooked that made them elite. You,ve made some good points tho mate. Just a bit of a hame a guy thats got the CV of ward...took on a pretty big challenge in kovalev still can't seem to get any credit.

 

Ward's back was against the wall as every corner he turned his head to, all he could see was a Bivol, GGG, Beterbiev and a Usyk.

He wanted no part of that, hence decided to take the Coward's way out when in his prime

Yes papilion he is. Theres a few that would defo scare Ward at 175. Hes taking the Mayweather path now. He was talking going north of 175 after Kov, Bellew and even AJ, but was putting the real effort in to fighting our domestic lads...Snakey man with annoyingly droopy eyelids lol

Yeah, I never believed the internet opinion of the pimp. I don't like the **** and i'd back my boy Kov, against him, but I thought his straight left was so hard to avoid and it was so good he'd get everyone at some stage, whether it Droopy, Froch or Kov ! Best left hand in boxing, or one of them !
