Note to oneself, don't get in to a debate with old timers in the classic. Good evenings !

We would certainly be justified in favoring Lewis, but Baer is going to be a dangerous underdog here.

I suspect that Lewis would play it safety first, and box to a clear decision win.

I don't put much stock in physical strength, Rahman was never a murderous puncher in the ring and or very durable.

No, I never bought that theory.

Ruddock was always shaky. Tyson hurt him almost every clean punch, the difference is Ruddock could just throw his weight on Tyson and clinch and wrestle his way out of trouble.

Ruddock couldn't clinch Lewis, he tried there in the 2nd Round..I think it was. But Lewis was too big and wouldn't let him.

Ahhhhh clinch and weight my friend, something you've been avoiding when I mentioned it with a much bigger weight disparity like Bruno and The Rock. Tyson hurting you with every clean punch and you still are there throwing back and making a fight of it is mighty fine going, THATS A CHIN. Also you don't put much stock in physical strength???? Oh my lord.

We never discussed Bruno vs Marciano.

I certainly wouldnt put Ruddock's durability on the same class as Baer and the others mentioned.

Physical strength In what capacity? So what if Rahman had the best bench, he was an average puncher.

Lewis outboxes Baer after an early scare where he gets floored.

Lewis better run and jab, because Baer could KO him in a split second

Common sense points to it quite obviously doesn't it. It would be a shocker if Baer got the win

Less so than McCall or Rahman doing it IMHO.

At least there is not a shred of doubt about Baer's credentials as a dangerous puncher.

Cant argue with that, he has the size and punch to hurt most. I was quite surprised how wide and strong Baer looked in that clip with Carnera. Above average size for his time

Lewis definitely had all the tools to beat Baer, I think most likely we would see Lewis win on points, but you never know when a glass chin like Lewis fights a power puncher like baers. Lewis would definitely need to keep moving the whole time and proceed with great caution

With Manny Steward in his corner Lewis would come out with the right battle plan. Using a sharp jab and moving Baer back on his heels. Much like his strategy vs Golota. Lennox bigger, quicker, the better boxer. Lewis by early knockout.

I'd like to introduce you to doctors Dunning and Kruger. They'd like you to perform some tests.
