i don't think he is scared to fight, he wants all the advantages. the biggest thing is no one is going to absorb the financial loss it would take to get him into the ring again. no one knows who he is,but he wants superstar money.

Ward fights in a very old fashioned dogged way that makes him favourite against just about anyone you care to mention at light heavyweight.
Am I fan of his style?no I’m not just as so many others aren’t hence his career being fought in his home state but at what he does he’s mighty good at.

Ward didnt get to fight Froch in Oakland. It was only because the final fight was to be in Vegas. Had Froch been an earlier draw it would have been more local for Ward.
You hit the nail on the head though. Froch won at home and lost away, Kessler won at home and lost away, Dirrell won at home and lost away, Abraham won at home and lost away.
This is why I am unsure if Ward with wanting home advantage was willing to take the challenge of going into his opponents backyard. Not even in close fights, often fighters can get motivated with home support and Froch was saying before Ward that he felt like an old man, that he was wanting to get back for Christmas. He had been on the road for 5 of his last 6 fights, fought every original member of the Super 6 one after the other as well as Johnson. The man was a different animal after getting some rest and being back at home. Similar for Abraham in that he also was on the road for many draining fights. Once again, this makes me wonder if this is why Ward didnt want to travel like the others
