Froch believes Bivol is part of the reason Ward retired

I mean, firstly Froch is a bitter **** and always will be. But I think there is some credence to the notion here. Ward tried to make a fight with Buglioni and then instead of trying to fight anyone else at 175 of note, he retired. So I mean, it isn't crazy to see that as Ward looking at Bivol and the other guys and thinking "No, thank you"

 

I remember at the time ward retired fat dan reported that hbo did offer him an extension to his television deal but they wanted him to fight at cruiserweight and possibly heavyweight.

Ward is a smart guy he went up to lightheavy picked kovalev and even hunter has admitted they knew about kov’s problems in his camp his drinking and such he took a well thought out risk of fighting him, but most likely hbo muted down the line a fight with usyk or who ever won the wbss and ward probably thought that was to much of a leap.

Ward retired because his promoter didn't want to lose more money on him, and no other promoter would be stupid enough to give him the huge paydays he demands.

yes tis a shame kov lost but i deal with it too. difference between atg and elite i guess.

the first fight was a draw to me though, shame the rematch oerwrites that.
