You must take into fact that Frazier's best victim is about on a magnitude of 50 better than Dempsey's.

I'm going with the proven commodity not some fairy tale bull**** conjured off performances against canon fodder.

Great post but Jack did fight a few black fighters, the last being John Lester Johnson who broke his ribs. After that experience Jack seemed to have enough of that sort of treatment and his run got lilly-white afterward.... unless you count the dubious bout against Morris who was part Cherokee.

Frazier overwhelms Dempsey and stops him between 5-7

Dempsey was a great fighter of his era but I don't think he would have done well against modern fighters. He had great power but I think Frazier would have eaten him up. Marciano, on the other hand, would be a fight I'd love to have seen with Frazier.

Dempsey better chin than Frazier ? Give me a break... Joe FrAzier was bigger(yes thicker,bigger),20 pounds heavier, stronger, better overall and probably did hit as hard if not harder.

Dempsey could hit hard and he started faster and was more of a 2 handed puncher. Fraizer was more of a slower starter and one handed puncher. In this scenario, I don't think the size difference would be particularly relevant. Fraizer's best weight was about 200-205 lbs. Dempsey's was 187-190 lbs. Not the biggest and most daunting size difference to overcome. Especially when given their styles and Dempsey's punching power to even up the score. Now either were hard to find and Dempsey would have landed a lot of punches on the slower starting Fraizer.
If Fraizer survived Dempsey's early barrage, then Fraizer's chances go way up.

I don't always think a fighter's resume always tells the tale. Sometimes I think it's more on how you beat a fighter, rather than who you beat. I don't believe that because you never fought and beat a prime time ATG that it means that you could never beat a prime ATG.

So I have color footage of Joe Louis?

And the only rating or discussion anyone wants to have around here is about heavyweights. So, if you want to talk about black and white middles or bantams or lightheavies, you might be in for a shock.

That was Joe's 12th fight. Jack had over 30 fights (probably well over) when Flynn coldcocked him. Were Flynn and Firpo more sophisticated than Joe?

Honestly, this one could go either way. I would definitely lean to Joe because he is more proven but Jack had the punch and tenacity to turn events on a dime. Don't think I would be laying a lot of money on the outcome but I would pay a lot for a ticket.

1-Joe Frazier never ever weighed 200 pounds in his prime.
2- when frazier fought bob foster in 1970 was also in his absolute peak and he weighed 209 incredible pounds and he was 210 for Marion conner in 1967. 1 thing is sure.. He never weighed 200 pounds in his prime. Also dempsey was not only lighter than joe but he was longer so it makes him look even "smaller".joe weighed 205-210 pounds at 5'11 but dempsey was 188 at 6'1. So stop inventing histories trying to make the difference of size look much smaller than it actually is.
3-in this type of fight where the guys will trade blows like animals of course that the size is a relevant factor, frazier had a better center of gravity a stronger core he had bigger stronger legs.frazier was a more compact, robust and stronger man than dempsey

That would be a wild one. I feel more secure about Moore definitely. Start a thread!

What does an "incredible" pound look like as opposed to a normal one boxeo :D
