    So Aussie mentions Calzaghe.
I give Aussie a post just saying the opposite of what he wrote
Then he comes up with this???
I understand now that it is Aussie who wants to talk Calzaghe. Not me.
    Im on a Ward thread.
I see now that Aussie wants to talk about Calzaghe and mentions my name because every time Aussie has got into this debate with me, he hasnt known any facts and gets completely owned, so wants to mention Calzaghe to get others to jump on it with him.
Dont bother Aussie, start a new thread. I will reply to posts to me but it is you changing the subject and I can only think it is because when we had this conversation before you got destroyed.

Lol a good career is an understatement personally he is one of the best of his era and can arguably be said to be the best due to different styles of fighters he beat.

Floyd didn’t travel and people still see him as an ATG. So no reason why Ward doesn’t make that list with that against him.

I think the point is that it was not going to happen if you read the link because a location couldnt be agreed

As I said before a poster wrote beforehand that they wont fight.

The fact I thought he lost is irrelevant as he got the W in the record books. The majority of people out there had him losing at ringside are they lying aswell?

The fact that you are trying to make an argument out of something which you have interpreted incorrectly says more about YOU than me.

    It really isnt.
If you know the SMW division and have been watching from the start you would know. Many didnt watch Calzaghe until he beat Lacy and even if Calzaghe had of retired before the LAcy fight his SMW career would have been rated above Wards SMW career IMO with wins over Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Veit x2, Mitchell as well as Starie, Sheika then and Mkertchyn to name a few. At that time it would have been 18 world title wins
He didnt. But heres the thing, Calzaghe travelled to the away fighter who was at the time rated higher than him in some ratings and won. You mention Ward having a bad hand he didnt know of yet Calzaghe broke his hand in that fight and won clearly in a tough fight.
Ask yourself this. How could you not score rounds 2, 3, 4,7, 8 (Reid also had a point deduction in that round), 12 to Calzaghe? Remember Reid had a point deducted also.

I thought like 2 judges that Calzaghe was a clear winner and except for McCrory who scored a draw when watching live in a pro Reid crowd, all of the other studio guest scored wide for Calzaghe including Mcguigan and Eubank. I also think damaged handed (damaged his hand in round 4) Calzaghe won and felt he won rounds 1, 9 (Reid did land the punch of the night in round 9 though) & 11.

    Good away win for Calzaghe

Reid wouldnt fight Calzaghe when he was champ

Yes I scored the first fight to Kovalev
Different divisions and fighters, means little. I have seen some on here score Ward/Bika a draw.
Ward looked fortunate to some against Boone and I rate Reid above Boone
This is where I say people who dont know. There was always a bit of something because Reid didnt face Calzaghe when he was champ.
Reid didnt fight for over a year after that fight and then lost his fight after not looking very impressive and I believe then Reid changed promoters.
Once again you are trying to compare ams to pros and that makes no sense. Audley Harrison was a gold medalist, M Tyson wasnt. J Degale was also a gold medalist.
Calzaghe beat the fighter who went to the Olympics that year and who ended up winnin Bronze as well as being a 3 weight ABA champ but that which Ward wasnt... It means nothing we are talking pros, amateur is irrelevant. Floyd Mayweather didnt win a gold medal...

Calzaghe did conquer 2 divisions and was the first fighter to hold the ring title in 2 weights at the same time

Poor Sissy, still trying to find some ground. Run along back to a Wilder thread where you can enjoy being beaten and passed around lol

I think Ward gets rated very well because America had not had many top SMWs for a long while and I think because Ward was the first time America could really claim a top SMW as the real champ of a division due to The Ring mag and by default with Froch beating Bute. That is only my opinion.
You mention all of the styles but as noted he didnt face boxer movers.
I think you misunderstand me as I do rate Ward highly and would have him as a top 10 SMW.

As for Floyd, you are right that he didnt travel but he was something like a 5 weight world champ who really did beat many different styles and with Floyd he was the big name to face, whereas Ward didnt travel in a competition where all other originals did. Floyd would have the similar things said about I think if he didnt travel in a competition where all others had to

That’s a lot to comb through I’ll have to reply to you when I can address each point but you put forward a good argument.

No problem mate. Its probably going off subject a fair bit.
I do rate Ward as a top 10 SMW.
I try and stick to facts and often posters (not yourself) who have a bias cant see it anyway but how they want to. If they say like me, they can never point to what I have said that is incorrect but would claim they dont see the point in doing it, but then want to try and get back on the subject when they feel they have a support network, which shows a big weakness IMO. You know how it is on ESB. Its all fun

That’s alright to be honest you seem like an honest poster from everything you wrote, you seem to have a somewhat of a bias against Ward but that doesn’t make you a hater or anything. I am a big Ward fan so I won’t act like I ain’t harbouring my own bias. Some clowns on here don’t even bring a sound arguement like you they just spout nonsense and hate speeches against certain fighters.

Once he sees what Beterbiev and Gvozdyk are capable of... he definitely won’t come back. Especially after The Nail blasts out Stevenson later this year.

I wanna seen Gvozdyk take on kovalev, he is the mandatory or will be if not already. Stevenson won’t even fight his mandatory of two years it will take ages for Stevenson to finally face Gvozdyk, Kovalev would be ready for that fight soon.
