While the action inside the ring for 2017 was excellent the judging was anything but, especially in some high profile matches.

On gut instinct I felt 2017 was about the same as most past years to be honest ...

I've been following the sport for 17 years, maybe 10 seriously. I can't remember a year that was this bad for judging. The system is totally broken. But worst ever? That's hard to say. In a sport that's nearly 130 years old, the odds are against it being the worst year, although records do get broken from time to time. It was probably worse in the days when organized crime ran things.

Maybe there weren't more bad calls, it was just that every high profile fight had a bad call. Like every single ****ing one. Usually the bad calls are confined to the undercard fights between nobodies and they don't happen during the major events. Having them on the most publicized cards with the biggest fighters in the sport, every time one of them fought put a magnifying glass on the problem. Nobody cares when it's just Joe Blow having a bad night, but you wreck a superstar's career and cost people millions in betting money, people are going to be upset, especially when nothing is done to correct the problem and all the offenders get off scott free.

Renald Garrido vs. Fatih Keles II was one of the worst decisions that I've EVER had the misfortune of witnessing.

The most sickening part about some of this years judging is that people are now able to accurately predict a robbery and in the case of Canelo vs GGG somebody on this forum predicted all 3 score cards, even the 118-110 card, which is maybe the worst score card i have ever ever seen. He knew Golovkin was guna get shafted if it went 12.

Ive watched some not so close fights this year, clear winner but cuz it went the distance i got nervous before the cards were announced because its just common practice these days.

I bet Kovalev to beat Ward, Golovkin to beat Canelo, Pacquiao to beat Horn, and Gonzalez to beat Rungvisai. I lost my shirt and now I got to listen to CST80 tell me I'm a mook who doesn't know boxing or how to score a fight. **** 2017.

That's how I took it. I was like "Man, betting's for losers." Then the site just started me back at like 500 vcash again and I was like "Put it all on Lomachenko!"

I agree that all were questionable or bad decisions.
And @CST80 is a great bloke, but occasionally he had this adalaide bird-patricia jarman moments:D

That's why I never bet real money on boxing. I've seen with "sure bets" for pretend cash here, that boxing politics and corruption makes sure that there aren't any sure bets.

Tbh I just think it's because there is more exposure. More boxing is on TV than ever before so it's visible to more people when there is a clear robbery.
