Bruno in his prime was more dangerous than 51 Louis. I'm pretty sure Bruno would have been knocking out the tiny fringe contender types who were taking 50s Louis the distance.

Bruno had a right hand. And not a bad one either.

Who among these do you pick Marciano to defeat? All of them?

I don't think that he would beat all of them, but I am fairly confident that he would not lose to all of them, like Bruno did!

    Would, could, should.

Who did Bruno actually beat, to suggest that he was a more dangerous proposition than this version of Louis?

So, which ones would he not lose to?

I would favor him over Smith, Witherspoon, and the Tyson of the second fight.

Even if he somehow lost to all of them, he would have managed to beat somebody of note over this period.

Not a right hand that was relevant against great fighters. Tyson took away the room to use it and so would Marciano.

I’ve known Bruno my whole life. He needed too much time and space. Marciano is wrong for him. Forget it.

For some weird reason Bruno makes some crazy internet criteria that (among a generation who did not know him) spells doom for anyone that is not a comparable “tale of the tape” match to him. This is bollocks. It’s like saying triple G can’t beat a body builder who never boxed.

This Bruno equals Foreman fetish...It’s like some made up nonsense like “style advantage” a complete bogus turn on words that is not the same as “styles makes fights”. Anyway I don’t need to go down a “rock, Paper Scissors, stones” road to prove that ball hang Is dead again. This is about levels.

Frank was not on that level. Forget about it. Move on.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned on this thread yet, but ..
    .. Bruno was crap.

It seems a couple of posters here are still somewhat unaware of that fact.

I always felt vaguely sorry for Lennox Lewis during his early career, because people loved Bruno for being a likable loser, while he was actually beating world class opposition, even then!

The spitting Image annual even carried a cardboard cutout of Bruno, who had been dismantled in his last fight, inviting you to "resemble the champion in time for his next great defeat".

The gullibility of the British public hadn't quite stretched to buying into Canadian Olympic representative Lennox Lewis as it's new British heavyweight messiah at that point.

    Why not Herbie Hide then.

He held the WBO belt before Bruno won a title.

    At least that was something!

But but but...he only lost to the best, and the good, and okay...

And really anyone that wasn't there to be blown out, and even that back fired (Fat Spoon).
