Andre Ward vs Nigel Benn @168

I just can't see how Benn would win, Ward would completely nullify him with his 'ringcraft' or holding and cheap shots if you like.

 

Benn is my favourite boxer of all time, but can't see how he wins this. Ward by late stoppage after Benn bounces off his head all night and hits air.

 

if ward can lock down someone like Krusher, he can do the same to destroyer.

 

Ward wouldn't have an opponent so soft once he started fouling, Benn cracks that chin at some point.

 

Ward would have to be very careful.
Despite any shortcomings Benn is a danger to any middle or super middle at any time.
Ward would have too much for Benn though and would carve out a UD or late stoppage.

Wide UD for Ward. Too good a boxer

 

Tough fight to call. Benn from the McClellan fight, beats Ward. But, anything less than Benn's best would likely result in a boring decision loss.

 

Never seen this match-up proposed before, fair play. Love Benn, but think Ward gets the UD. Not wide, because Benn was a beast, and his big blows always looked impressive to judges and fans alike. But UD for Ward. Great post though, OP.

 

Depends on the ref. Ward's career has only been made possible with refs and judges.

 

Ward is way too smart for Benn.

He'd figure him out after a couple of rounds and Nigel would slowly run out of ideas.

Andre Ward could adapt to all styles of boxers and his mindset and
will power was his strongest asset . Ward hasn't lost a fight since he
was 12. Benn is dangerous but Andre Ward would stay out of harm 's
way and win on pts.

 

Ward late stoppage I think .Benn was a very dangerous fighter genuine one shot power if he connects Ward could be in big trouble but I think ward uses his skill and.speed and stops Nigel as he runs out of puff .Great fight
