I respect and admire Lennox Lewis the boxer however Ike Ibeabuchi displayed excellent boxing IQ. It’s not the fact he beat the undefeated Tua and Byrd at the time he fought them rather the manner in which he did it. The difference between Ike and the likes of Grant and Golota is that he really could fight not a footballer turned boxers or in the case of Golota someone go really was not interested in fighting. Ike was a throwback a proper fighter well schooled by former world champion and his trainer Curtis Cokes. He was infinitely more gifted than Razor Ruddock who was a Limited fighter. Ike was a very good boxer with skills, conditioning, punching power, speed and ring generalship. Lennox Lewis is a physically very strong man but Ike was stronger than him. He truly was the lost heavyweight who would have prevented us suffering the indignity of the Klitschko era.
It was not a Hail Mary it was strategic. Even the commentators noticed he was touching Byrd’s arms in the 1st round when nobody else could touch Byrd. It worked and when the they got him where they wanted him strategy of Trainer Curtis Cokes they put his lights out as the famous saying goes it was all she wrote.
About how I see it, and since no less than 3 boxers have been reported to floor AJ, he's in some trouble vs the tank like Ibeabuchi. Lennox Lewis likely felt relieved when Ike went away from the scene. He was a beast of a man, durable enough to go toe to toe with a fit David Tua, and skilled enough to track down and completely smash a defensive minded southpaw in Byrd.
Now I know you overrate him. You say he was stronger than Lewis, based on what? Who did he fight who was as strong as Lewis? Byrd, definitely not. Tua? Nope, definitely not, when they did clinch in their fight a bigger version of the Tua, Ike fought was easily manhandled and pushed back by Lewis. But I do think Ike was better than Ruddock and probably Golota too, due to Golota's lack of mental fortitude. Ike was a good fighter, not one you want to go toe to toe with but I think he could be out boxed. He looked good vs smaller heavies, he never showed he could handle the emergence of the breed of super heavies at that time which have gone on to dominate the sport. Maybe he beats the Klits, maybe Wlad and Vitali show him what it's like to fight a bigger man and beat him.
] i think he stopped taking his meds when he got out and of course went back to his mental illness state. that was a breach of parole but the pictures that i saw of him when he was inside he looked 7 months pregnant and no where near looking like he did. a boxer with bnoth psychotic and self harm tendancies is not a good mix i mean he really did think he was a president and insisted on being called one / hence his nickname.
Thats your opinion, but he's certainly not better than Holyfield. Ibeabuchi has turned into this mythical unstoppable beast which is amazing considering he's only got 2 good names on his record.
Probably be a good idea to keep him in permanently. Dark as **** what got him in to trouble in the first place, and sounds like they shouldn't of even entertained the idea of a comeback !
he kidnapped someone and tried to kill himself and his victim from memory was there a **** in there somwhere as well ? i remember the pictures someone smuggled out /taken from prison with him looking old and fat in an orange jump suit
The President would whoop Joshua's ass. They way he fought Takam showed us that Ike would beat the living **** out of Joshua.
Battle of the Nigerian strongmen. Ike had better chin , stamina and power. Unlike Dillian Whyte and Klitschko who couldn't finish the job Ike would . Ike ko mid rounds.
