I rate Barrera Morales I as the best fight of the century hands down. But Marquez Vazquez was the best trilogy to me. Yes, Barrera Morales was fought at a higher level. I mean there was/is no higher level, you're talking about pure ATG's fighting each other in their prime. But Marquez Vazquez was also fought at an extremely high level, just not the highest, but to me that doesn't matter when it comes to entertainment value. They were still extremely high level boxers and to demand that everybody be an ATG caliber fighter is overkill. And you would find it almost impossible to find fights you enjoy watching. I don't like that kind of snobbish hipsterish view. When people try and compare Marquez and Vazquez to Gatti and Ward, I shake my head because yea that's a massive gap in ability. Mickey Ward let's remember was a basically a New England club fighter and he was past his prime too.

It was a great fight, but there are better fights. It might squeeze into the top 10 though.

Ohh yeah definitely better fights. But it was a huge deal for me because at the time I was a Cotto fan and it was crazy watching that fight cause he got destroyed and everybody in the house where I was at was so quiet and sad after it dude it was like a funeral pretty much. Most of them Puertoricans of course.. One of the biggest walkdowns IMO too bad is tainted with controversy. But cotto's face, the amount of punches each fighter threw and when Cotto got up after taking that knee.. He looked so destroyed.. Crazy night

Gatti vs Ward for me. I didn't think ANY fight could be better than Barrera/Morales I until I saw this slice of heaven. Any great fight after, including the best trilogy even displayed IMO, Marquez/Vasquez, I couldn't abandon the thought of picking anything I've witness as greater.
Corrales and Castillo had a bit of controversy with the purposely spitting the mouth piece 3 times to get extra recoup time. Even though the fight itself and the dramatic ending was epic, the mouth guard taints it for me.

Quick shout-out for Sithchatawal-Monshipour. Warrants inclusion on this list due to sheer insanity, and the fact that it came out of relative obscurity to win FOTY in 2006. Brought Youtube into prominence among boxing fans, since it's one of first examples of a fight gaining widespread viewership and acceptance based on its upload.

That was an amazing action packed brawl.there just wasn't a high enough skill level for it to be best fight of the decade.

Plenty of amazing fights, very hard to pick one

But one (that isnt on the list) that I love and might be my favorite fights is Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz 1. Just absolutely ridiculous non stop action, combos, knockdowns and a finish. May not be the "best fight of 21st century" but pretty god damn amazing regardless
