Jeffries was Olympic grade in several sports, though didn't formally participate in such International events.
Based on what? Did you run them all thru a combine? Wlad supposedly could run a 2 minute 800 meters in his prime. I would almost guarantee that Joshua could not do that. I would also guarantee that Wlad and Joshua would shame Wilder in a weight room. So, again, what does Wilder do that makes you think this?
He's more explosive than both of them. Joshua can't dunk a basketball, there is a video on youtube. I doubt Wlad can also, maybe barely.
Well, that could have been a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a pathological condition, definitely not an athletic advantage.
Joshua can't dunk a basketball? Really? My dad could almost dunk a basketball when he was younger and he was a 5'11'', 230 pound white guy.
Wlad has terrible stamina so I doubt that. About weight room, they are bigger than Wilder and have spent more time in the weight room I guess.
I take it you're talking about this? : This content is protected That's a ~five second clip (looped) with no context, and he's clearly not really trying to dunk the ball. (Either that or he's injured or something.)
Seriously, you basing athleticism on dunking a basketball? One of the top specimens of the 20th century, Sergei Bubka, couldn't dunk the first time he tried it. He could run a 10.2 100 meters and long jump 26 feet and pole vault 20 feet but had never even touched a bball. If Bubka had given 2 sh*ts and practiced a week, he would have been windmill dunking. My point being, Wilder has probably been playing some level of Bball since he was a kid. Joshua doesn't exactly look comfortable with the ball in his hand.
I also don't think he's trying there. I used to be able to dunk when I was younger, and that is how I would look sometimes when barely trying. It's like you know you can, and know you can even when not being explosive, so you do one of those have hearted efforts. He could be injured, but I doubt you'd be trying that if you were. The other option here is, he's a terrible basketball player who can barely dribble. My thinking is, look at how he's looking down while dribbling intently, it's clear he doesn't have a feel for dribbling or the game. He knows he's being filmed, so he wants to make sure he doesn't look like a complete clown while dribbling up to the rim, so most of his concentration is on that aspect... so much so, he misjudges when to jump and be explosive (again no feel for the game) and he just misses. That was a pretty pathetic basketball display regardless.
So I guess if he wasn't trying to dunk he was intentionally making a clumsy stiff out of himself? Seriously doubt that.
You do know that standing vertical jump is mostly genetics, you can't really train it? 6'6 with a +80 inch reach athlete should be able to dunk easily
I agree he should be able to with even a little bit of athleticism, but that video doesn't really prove the point as he's clearly not trying. It just proves what a oaf he would be on the court. By the way, you can train to increase your vertical. Not only are there lifting exercises that do it, they have equipment like special shoes which can also help.
https://i.imgur.com/FZAHVyg.mp4 Bowe was unreal for a guy that size. Probably the worst ever stylistic match up for Holyfield. But Bowe fluidity issome very rare and very strange to see from a guy that big. How much credit can we lay at Eddie Futches doorstep, and how much is just Bowe being incredible.
