I know you love Carl but this is going to be a classic pretty much guaranteed. Quigg will never get caught out like that again and Valdez will go with him

...and who do you say will win this "classic", as you call it?

I think Valdez has more options in this fight. If he gets on his bike he could run rings around Quigg.

You could be right who knows but when let off the leash In 2nd half against Carl who has very good footwork he had no problem getting to him. I am more concerned at Quiggs total lack of a defense in last couple of fights than if he can get to Valdez

I'm just after watching Valdez v marriaga. Valdez has a seriously good engine and very tasty footwork. He covers an awful lot of canvas gracefully, fluidly and seemingly effortlessly. He will not necessarily be forced into a phone booth war with Quigg. He can box on the move if he chooses....which if he is smart he will do.

I respectfully disagree that Quigg "got to" Frampton..as you ...and admittedly several others ...claim Guy.
In reality Carl always takes rounds off in all his fights...and when he did obviously Quigg looked "busier" and maybe superficially more successful than he had earlier....but if you look closely ...really Quigg has little real success with clean punches on the target even then.
Valdez has a better engine and faster feet than Carl....which is potentially bad news for Quigg, if Valdez uses his attributes he can make this fight a lot easier for himself than Quigg would like.

Hopefully we'll see Quigg go up a gear and show us why the move to Roach has been a beneficial one.

He hasn't looked impressive since the move to the states, but that could simply be down to dropping his performance to the level of opposition he's in with, as we see all to often.

He'll be getting the best sparring he could hope for over there and this is certainly a fight he should be bang up for.

Theres not doubt Quigg posed serious problems for Frampton in their fight. At one stage it looked like he was over-powering Carl, but his engine slowed and Frampton dug deep and finished well. Lets not forget the broken jaw either ! Its a fact he was troubling him

I feel Valdez outclasses and secures a stoppage between 8-10 rounds. However all the best to Quigg. Great win if he pulls it off.

Carl was never in any danger of being overpowered by Quigg Birmingham. Carl was under a bit of pressure that's all....and Quigg was generating more heat than light.
It has been said that if Quigg started faster he would have won...that is true of CEJ against BJS maybe ...but Quigg was never beating Framptonin that fight.

There was a patch in the fight where Quigg upped it and took control but he couldn't sustain it or perhaps Frampton was having a quiet one. The right man won no doubt, but there was more to the fight than I first thought after learning of the broken jaw. Framptons class and I rate Quigg, but i'd like to see it again. My gut feeling is he always trails Frampton but gives a good showing ! Quigg is lacking iq more than anything, what you think ?

He seems to be fighting like he is a massive puncher since he switched to Roach, with worse defence..One more fight i'm giving him before I say hes regressed since going stateside !

Yeah probably true. In all honesty and no disrespect to Roach but he is probably declining as a coach.

I'm not sure IQ is a factor ...good or bad... With Quigg. Even if he is the "complete moron" some of his nastier detractors say he is....and I don't subscribe to or condone that garbage...there is such a thing as an "idiot savant", a person who despite having a low IQ can be an absolute genius in their own unique way/field of expertise.

I just think Quigg has limits to his talent. If Valdez moves and potshots like he did versus marriaga ... he could win widely....without it being the slugfest many are assuming is inevitable. Fans expecting a sensational war might be disappointed. Cheers.
