Damn, @PinoyProdigy Our backs are already up against the wall. Which is just the way I like it. It gives me a little extra motivation.
Ergashev vs Frederickson is the first match-up this year that is making me scratch my head. Erg hasn't fought anyone yet, but appears to have crazy legit power from the little I've seen of him. Frederickson has been in against better guys and has height and reach on Erg, but doesn't seem to have quite the same level of physical talent. But height, reach and pro experience can go a long way to overcome a talent defecit, which doesn't seem enormous by any means. Ugh. I have a feeling that no matter how I pick on this, it will come back to bite me in the ass. Oh well. The undefeated streak was nice while it lasted.
The quadruple asterisk is the classic look for a kirk's thread, but a naked (or at least more lightly-garbed) title isn't without precedent. It has been a running tradition every year since 2010, with the exception (for some reason) of 2015, which is the only time no asterisks were used. In the incipient and sophomore kirk's championship seasons, he used a different number of asterisks. Also, I took advantage of the opportunity to cull the following data which I meant to do when kirk first made this one, but forgot: Kirk's Championship Threads w/ total replies (* denotes title winged by quadruple asterisks) 2008 3,051 (only three asterisks) 2009 3,728 (only two asterisks) 2010 5,254 * 2011 12,515 * 2012 11,644 * 2013 10,338 * 2014 2,755 * 2015 15,606 2016 10,494 * 2017 17,069 * Very weird how it climbed in popularity - more than doubling after 2010! - only to absolutely nose dive in 2014 (wtf did you do to become so disliked so fast, kirk??? ). Complete and utter anomaly, because in 2015 it returned more popular than ever. Then a big dip, followed by another meteoric spike. If you plotted that on a graph it would resemble the scrawling of a lab munky (that's a word filter? Are you serious?) fed nothing but espresso and Red Bull and the feces of its cage mates on the same diet.
2014 is also the only season that isn't on the front page of the General Forum if you sort threads by most-replied-to (aka top-30...meaning the other 9 kirk's threads make up nearly a third of the most replied to GF threads of all time) It's third down on the second page, at #33.
Just letting the new guys gain their confidence and the other vets think we didn’t train over the break.
I joined in November 2014, and ever since then, look at the precipitous rise back to dominance. Because I run around the site lassoing unsuspecting innocent new posters, drag them in kicking and screaming and within a week or two they're hopelessly addicted as well.

I don't think it's the best super hero film ever, but it's damn good. I'm too busy usually to dedicate so much time into watching films, especially when I miss the window of them being in the cinema. But last night I has a spare bit of time and it just came as available to download on my satellite box so I gave it a whirl.
