This was a fight that had my mouth watering at the time. I had seen spinks do big things and make a name for himself prior to the negotiations that didn't go through for the fight. Its no secret, Floyd had problems with slick southpaws, and Corey was one of the slickest at that particular time. Is it really that far fetched to think spinks would have troubled Floyd enough at the higher weights that it would have caused an upset? In my personal opinion, I think Floyd would have struggled greatly, but once he had figured out spinks, and had to dig a little deep to assert his dominance while losing some clear rounds, he had run away with it in the later rounds and win a 7-5 8-4 type fight. What do you think?
I think he was capable style wise to get a SD against Floyd. The return would have Floyd upping it more to no avail, and getting unusually frustrated. While Spinks goes on to win and lose some, and fight fans are left wondering how the hell he beat Mayweather !
Mayweather beat much better fighters than spinks.he would win 9-3.i hated spinks' style.i thought the fights with Judah 1,mayorga and jermain Taylor were all extremely close but I had spinks winning each time.if he could almost beat Taylor at middleweight he could give mayweather a tough fight.had a great win over karmazin aswell but, also remember spinks lost to piccirillo and Verno Phillips.
Same as the judah fight but less nut shots and less floyd really selling the low blow (we all saw it. Clear as day, stop the theatrics)
thats what i got at with the "less nut shots" as zab did it purely out of frustration from being toyed with
