hard one to figure. Kelly was a big middleweight and waited for guys to tired and he poured it on.. Nigel came on all the time. very hard fight. Stylewise. hard for Nigel, yet he is a better fighter.

You know, I might just lean towards Pavlik in this one. A bit sturdier than Benn, with probably a better punch variety as well, now that I think about it.

Pavlik would walk into a big shot possibly when attacking Benn and that would be that!Kelly wasn't hard to hit .That means trouble for Kelly.

I can't get the image of Benn Bolivianizing Doug DeWitt....

Great fight this would be, Benn would get dropped or badly hurt early but would recover and with his faster hands and combos would stop Pavlik around the 5th. maybe even put him out for the count.

Kelly showed a stern chin in an underrated slugfest I think most forget about nowadays... Edison Miranda in his prime was a murderous power puncher and he couldn't budge Pavlik. Even some of Pavlik's B-Side victories were over competent punchers, like Rubio, who himself stopped David Lemiux but couldn't even pester Kelly.

"Bolivianizing" ? You coined a new boxing term. FYI, I think there is a large stockpile of hot Brazilian gals out in North Dallas near your stomping grounds.

Pavlik was a huge fighter at middleweight, a real boiled down super middleweight/light heavyweight as I'm remembering it. You have to remember that up at 168 pounds against the 168 pound sized fighters Benn's power didn't seem nearly as lethal as it did at middleweight.

Was Pavlik known for his chin?

I'm using Mike Tyson's comment about knocking an opponent "into Bolivian".

The only Brazilian I want to meet are those Brazilian restaurants in Addison.

I have to admit....I have been to Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse, in Addison..in accompaniment of a few of the previously mentioned Brazilian-ettes.

This one goes very bad for Pavlik very quickly. 3 round decimation.

Actually, yeah. He slugged it out with the most feared puncher in boxing at the time and came out on top and was only knocked down by by one fighter in his career, who he rallied back to stop.
