Johnson fought Kaufman in1909 Kaufman had then beatenRoss,Gardner,Sullivan,Flynn,Barry, Schreck. He was considered the standout White Hope at the time I should have thought a warning explaining what I did wrong would have sufficed? If it happens again I'll call it quits,I found a couple of sites that look interesting. Its gettting a bit ridiculous here now.
Odd both you and Herolgee were out at the same time. Call it quits? I doubt that. We'll see if you can keep your word this time
I'm not going to get into a slanging match with you.You don't like me and I detest you let's leave it there. Now if you want to address the thread which White Hope had better credentials that Kaufman in 1909 when Johnson fought him? Name one who had better scalps on his record!
Jack O'Brien. 1 ) For openers he KO'd Kaufman prior to Kaufman meeting Johnson! 2 ) Many primary reports felt O'Brien was better in his 1909 match vs. Jack Johnson So O'Brien was the better hope in 1909 and in hindsight. 3 ) I'm 99.999% sure if you get banned again, you'll be back here as McVey or a different poster name. You never keep your word! But lets see if you can now.
O Brien?lol He had been ko'd 3 months before by Ketchel and he beat a 19 years old 5 fight Kaufman. ps Early in1910 Kaufman beat O Brien twice .O Brien and Johnson second time around would not have been a credible match and the concensus after their first fight was that there was no demand for a rematch. Save your personal venom, its wasted on me.

" Now if you want to address the thread which White Hope had better credentials that Kaufman in 1909 when Johnson fought him? Name one who had better scalps on his record! - Mcvey " You might want to check who O'Brien beat. from 1900-1909, hint-hint, he beat better opponents than Kaufman! Neither here not there, you will be banned again, and it happens, we shall see if you can keep your word and leave. I for one tend to doubt it!
I know who they both beat and Kaufman had lost just one fight when he fought Johnson ,at the age 19 and with just 5 fights under his belt he lost to O Brein then beat him twice in return . I'm not focused on or a fan of Kaufman ,I'm just stating how he was perceived in1909. This may surprise you but I really couldn't care less about your opinions on any subject. So why don't you concentrate on addressing the thread and not me? It's very disrespectful to the OP.
O'Brien had bearly fought a heavyweight since his loss to Burns, ND affairs with Johnson and Flynn being the exceptions. Kaufman had the wins mentioned above and he had size while Ketchel's win over O'Brien removed any talk of him as a contender. That is not to say he wasn't a better fighter than Kaufman, I think overall he was, but that's a different issue.
That was of course my point! Obviously Mendoza thought he saw a chance however tenuous to disparage Johnson and took it with both hands,no matter, he is the one with egg on his face.
Who in your opinion was a bigger threat to upset Johnson in 1909? O'Brien or Kaufman Even Mcvey knows the answer. Its O'Brien. The lines between light heavy and heavy were blurred when Johnson was champion. You didn't have to be over 200 pounds to fight him.
Which heavyweights had O Brien beaten to make him a threat to Johnson in1909? Who had O' Brien beaten in1908 to make him a threat to Johnson? Who did he beat in1907 to make him a threat? He got a 6 rds close nws,[ on some cards,] decision over Jim Flynn and he was in real trouble when the last bell rang. Newspaper decision for Flynn from E. W. Dickerson (Denver Rocky Mountain News). Newspaper decision for O'Brien from Associated Press. A draw from Otto C. Floto (Denver Post). Philadelphia Jack O'Brien had the better of Jim Flynn of Pueblo in a six-round go at the Auditorium tonight. O'Brien's margin was not very great. In fact, Flynn finished the stronger of the two and in the final round had O'Brien in visible distress, opening a cut over his left eye and sending him to his corner a little unsteady. (Associated Press) One for O Brien, one for Flynn, one a draw! Flynn never won a round against Johnson in two fights! O Brien was ko'd by Middleweight Ketchel in the closing minute of the last round ,and was laying motionless ,face down when the bell rang to save him from a ko. "Stanley Ketchel decisively beat Jack O'Brien before a packed house at the National A.C. last night, only the gong depriving him of a knockout over the Philadelphia man. After being floored three times with savage smashes in the final round, O'Brien went down like a log from a fourth vicious blow and was motionless on his face when the bell clanged, just as Referee Tim Hurst completed the count of four". In the rematch Ketchel knocked him spark out in 3 rds, leaving him with his head resting in the rosin box! After O Brien's 6 rds no decision with Johnson the press remarked there was no demand for an encore. Here is the Philadelphia Records,[ O Brien's home town paper,] account. "Philadelphia would hardly stand for another meeting for the reason that the local fight followers now know that Johnson is entirely too big for O' Brien, and that he in condition and so disposed ,should beat O' Brien in short order". If you put your phobic hatred to one side for a moment and did some research, you wouldn't make such an idiot of yourself with your ridiculous statements! YES! I know the answer and it wasn't O Brien! N.B .Jim Jeffries was publicly weighed in Chicago May 18th 1909 he scaled 243lbs,that is over a year before he fought Johnson! ps Your statement that Adam Pollack thinks Hart beat Johnson is BS too and I can quote his book and prove it!
