I think he looked good at 245 for his fight with Maddalone and Klitschko. Seriously , has there ever been a fighter in a similar situation that has returned to his former best weight and condition?
I think Buster Duglas was at 400lbs before he made a mildly successful comeback in the late 90s. He was in a coma and almost died. Compared to that Fury isn't THAT bad. If he had the will to do it he could.
He needs to go into the bush trained by demons away from all distractions until he is at least 275. And if he cant get down to 250 soon thereafter its back into the bush. And no hedgehog or boar of any kind.
It's been very easy for Fury to gain weight and garner attention by opening his mouth. Only when the attention and his money disappear will Tyson find it necessary to make a return.
He does not have the mental strength to ever be in shape again I would imagine he’s really enjoying being high on recreational drugs and eating whatever he wants, and he is too caught up in that turn back now He may be able to make minimal progress in lowering his weight and refraining from drug use, but not enough to be drug free for any length of time and fully back in fighting shape So no. He’s more than likely done. And most certainly done being a legit fighter at the top level
I read he’s only just today asked for his license and there was no clear explanation for the delay. I suspect he was PEDing hard and being unlicensed omitted him from testing. With PEDs, the weight would melt off. And as I understand it, he’s lost a considerable amount of weight.
I'm reading Hearn wants Fury v Joshua in 2018, which imo is like a lamb to the slaughter. Fury,if he's serious, needs 2 fights minimum and at least a year to get the weight off slowly if he stands any chance and its not just a cash out. Personally I think he will be a shell of the fighter he was !
I think we are nearly at the point where we say, "stop making promises you haven't the willpower or discipline to keep". In other words, stop making a fool of yourself.
