Prime Foreman Against Louis's Title Opposition. Does he make it 25-0?

It had absolutely nothing.to do with his chin but his elusive style,good.footwork and move of head. And no one of these guys was in the foreman league in the power department

I think it's actually far more likely than Foreman somehow managing to retain his Frazier fight peak for 25 defenses.

 

Foreman actually though extremely highly of Marciano and his punching power

 

Why Walcott and not Charles?

 

I see your point, but some could do better than expected. Not everyone went down asap when they were hit by Foreman

As I've said in another thread, all we can do is make educational predictions and even then, we still can never be sure and this has been proven. Leaving 1963 and going into 1964, there was every reason in the world to believe that Liston would early KO Ali and no reason to predict the outcome that actually did happen. Liston had a better resume, beat the better fighters alot more convincingly than Ali beat relatively inferior fighters. While Ali was struggling with Jones and getting knocked down by Cooper, Liston was somewhere stopping Floyd Patterson in 1 round and demolishing guys like Cleveland Williams and Zora Folley and chasing Eddie Machen around the ring.

The point is as per your comment about it all being supposition, all we can do is make our best educated guess. For all we know, Braddock is the one to find Foreman out if we put him in that era. Of course, like Ali out boxing Liston, it's something we'd all have to see to believe.

I got to be honest mate, I haven't seen more than a few clips of Young. I know he was highly regarded but somewhat forgotten a little

 

I think a fresher Liston beats Cassius clay, probably get flamed for it, but I think it was the wrong style at that stage of Listons career to overcome !

 

Foreman would obliterate each of them, id be surprised if any of them went the distance with a prime george

 

He stumbles somewhere somehow against somebody. Or not in top shape & can't get a guy out of there & the fatigue sets in.

Not a ton of Louis & Ali types that can beat the best for way more than a decade. Softies maybe & the landscape of multiple titles sure helps. but making say, 5 defenses against top competition is pretty good, and rare, historically.

 

Yeah seems it tbh Fergy. Good enough to beat very good fighters not on their game is the impression I get with him !
