Both fighters love to set up punches with their lead left jab, both place a very high emphasis on that jab. Both are olympic medalists. Lewis - Gold, Wilder - Bronze. Lewis is more defensive while Wilder is more a finisher. Both are very patient fighters however, as you can see in the Stiverne fight. Both are incredible power punchers. Lewis has a better resume ofc but no one should be surprised if Deontay one day surpasses him and I'm a huge Lewis fan. One of the greatest Canadian HW's of all time. Here is the master teaching Deontay the ways of the jab. This content is protected
Wilder uses the jab well to set up that mean right hand. The leverage he gets on it is mad. The execution of his right hand and the velocity it comes at is surely the best in boxing right now.
They edited out the part where Lewis "accidentally" hit Wilder with a jab which made him crumble to the ground like a sack of Alabama potatoes.
Wilder actually resembles a young Lewis in the ring. Wilder will never reach the point Lewis reached and he will never refine himself like Lewis did however.
How exactly does Wilder resemble Lewis? They're both black? That's where the similarities end. Did you see young Lewis footwork? His balance? His head movement? His careful timing when he picks his punches? His ring IQ? His infighting ability? Now look at Wilder. Everything young Lewis did well Wilder is either not doing at all or he's HORRIBLE at it.
LOL AJ is the Baby Lewis.Wilder aint ****,he is Deontay the Windmill Wilder who is so angry and hates the world.
The audience watching that lesson in the car park outnumber hose that attended Wilder's previous fights (where he also usually fights in car parks or people's back yards in Alabama)
