I'd back a Irishman over a Namibian at boxing every day of the year. From Belfast especially. For a small city of 600,000 they produce so much talent.. Ryan Burnett, Carl Frampton, Michael Conlan etc. Real fight city.
He may well, but someone can not say he's not elite in his division when he is currently the unified champ. Problem is at the lower weight classes there is less acknowledgement, if he was middleweight or heavy or even welter it would be different as there is less casual interest in weight classes such as bantamweight etc...
Even if itbwas, British boxing fans would not acknowledge it until at least 2 years down the road, it seems to be the way we British are wired we criticise criticise and criticise then reminisce on how good the last 2 years were that we've spent criticising whilst criticising the current day which at some point in the future we will probably reminisce about.. I was looking at some fights we have upcoming Whyte vs Browne Smith vs brahmer Eubank Jr vs groves AJ vs Parker Tyson fury return Amir khan return to UK signing with matchroom that sets up a potential long awaited clash with Kell brook Valdez vs Quigg Even bellew vs hate Seems good to me!
